My first impressions playing this steam retail were Rainbow 6 Vegas meets metal gear or Splinter cell as some of you's have said previously. It's that cover system.. it works but it also changes the game style. Also, for the game to rely and encourage the use of stealth so heavily in the early levels that I have played so far, the stealth mechanics are sub par to both the latter titles, which is a let down.

I really like the music and the atmosphere is suitably good in the game. Still has some of the cheesy voices like in the past DX games too, which is all good. Slightly disappinted that the whole feel of the game still feels a little "consoley" still (is that a word?).

The player/enviroment interaction deceived me at first.. I was expecting to be able to press butons on vending machines or pick up mops and brooms etc.. basically move stuff around and play around like you could in the original. Except you can't, everything is kinda just stuck there or doesn't do anything.. less pyhsics then in the first game?. Items like ammos and medicines are blended in with all the other useless level decoration. I can understand why they chose to item highlight the objects now. I am still playing with that option set to off though but I think it actually doesn't make a bit of difference, in fact it makes collecting the useful stuff more of a slightly needless chore instead.

Still early days into this game though and still looking forward to playing through the rest of it and seeing wha the story has to offer.

Playing on the "play it like Deus Ex" level. Sounded like the one to pick!. Very Happy

Yeah, and no timer bar to make the conversations more INTENSE and IMMERSIVE. I like that.

What I don't get is, why does only the first energy cell regenerate? Makes investing in more kinda pointless.

Yup, I upgraded everything in that regard, I think, and didn't get anything useful out of it. Hopefully they update it. It's just absolutely useless to have any extra cells at all, just eat those bars.

About those conversations, there's only two outcomes everytime, whatever you choose to say lowers of highers the persuasion value. After awhile there's not much immersion in it as you already know every aspect of the discussion. And there isn't any timer because there is no time limit, is there?

You can usually take-down any enemy non-lethal without any negative consequences.

So is there any way yet to download the Explosive Mission pack to use with a legit game? I ended up with two Tactical Enhancement pack keys but have not been able to get the other one yet.

It is thoroughly explained in-game IMO. There isn't much to know about it.

Not nvidia exclusive, but apparently runs slightly better on nvidia systems. MLAA is of course AMD:s equivalent, but runs a bit slower (somewhat better quality?) Talking about performance, this is not anything like PhysX, thankfully.

ah i see, i did some searching and it seems people using fxaa even with a 4870 1gb which i have but always says out of mem and crashes if it tries to use it for me.. interesting though that it seems one can use that mode of AA on ati.. good stuff I guess, and shocking considering how lame nvidia can be with its driver stuff.

Bought it - Russian key from legit reseller (yuplay.ru) using visa card $18 and used Russian VPN that cost $2 for 3 days (paypal) to activate the game myself. Cost me just over 12 quid in English money altogether.

Hardly played it yet but what I have seen so far has me very excited. Haven't changed any settings from bootup and it runs really nicely for me on my old Q6600 and 250GTS 1Gb with 2Gb ram (yeah I know... only 2 Very Happy)

I'm gonna enjoy this game - I can feel it Laughing

Can you display the contents of that ".iso" file please or at least the size? I'm just curious is all. The P2P pack seems to be fine. I was even able to use my legit steam saves on it as well, which is a huge plus.

Finished it. Seen all 4 endings.

Got mad, because even though I didn't kill ANYONE (even in the fucking prologue!) I didn't get the Pacifist achievement. Sad

Took me 40 hours for everything, though it seems I missed one or two ebooks for some reason.

Anyway, sorry The Witcher 2, but this gem here is my GOTY. Hell, it's probably the best game I've played since Mafia(which is my favorite of all time). And that is saying a lot.
