in serious mode, from my pov the only problem i see is diablo 3 (three).
if was named satan 1 (blizzard reply vs gw 1/2), probably noone would have said anything about that requirement to play online.
some people have an issue with that, some not.
i would have, if like in d2, i would not have any posibility to reset my skills.
thats the only use i had for sp mode in d2. to test builds, items, using a mod, or save editor.
and about drm, i dont think blizzard care to much about it.
what they can do eventually is to kinda enable an offline mod, like in starcraft, but without saving char progress or something. dont know how that could work.
So Diablo 3 is an MMO?
i put it next to gw1. but not that complex like gw1 + expansions.

most people play diablo online. It's no surprise most people dont care about having to be online to play it. If it means less hacks and cheating to boot, all the better

While I can see why people are annoyed but it, I don't really care about the online thing...

PoE is a much better game, it's free and it's built as an actual MMO. How about that?

Except it is one out of three games you mentioned that ONLY has a MP component. I could care less about MMO. Bring on the SP experience.

Diablo 3 is waaaaaay down on my care-o-meter at the moment.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

It plays more like the first Diablo, but it has a lot of new stuff to make it unique, you can solo through the whole game and you'll feel like in a singleplayer game. Trust me, you can't convince me anything because I played the game and it's one of the best games in years. Diablo has nothing on it anymore, maybe just the lore which will never get replaced, as I said before.

Not surprising Acti-Blizz requires you to have a registered BN2.0 game like WoW or SC2 to even post on this D3 forum, trials won't work. Ahh another great milking strategy. ugh.

You don't even have to base an opinion about it, you can simply quote the latest bullshit from the lead designer; "Diablo 3 is a co-op trading game, we made it to be online, if you're not playing co-op you're not playing it right" >_<

I understand why people bitch about no offline mode but I always wondered - where is fun in playing Diablo games solo? It's so bland and boring playing it alone. I can understand playing it like that for the first time, to soak the story/lore/atmosphere but after then? Multiplayer for the win, baby!

I'm optimistically sure the P2P (or the lazy scene) will make the game playable offline. Blizzard will just have to shove their play-it-all-right prattle in the ass silently in some corner then.

True words were spoken right here. |
so, if you can finish campain single player mode, beign 100% online, would be ok ? like sc2, without offline mode.
just trying to get to the core problem.

yeah , because so many people will buy sc2 or wow to POST IN D3 FORUM ...
get real, stop moaning about every little nonsense lol.
and for the people bitching and moaning about sp/mp ... nobody is forcing you to play with anyone, you can play d3 alone from a to z, always, never even have to meet another player ...

You already KNOW what the fucking core problem is. People have expressed distaste at being forced to play online. THAT's the core fucking problem. Since none of us want to "party up, lolz" with others, we just want to play solo, the forced requirement of a 100% always-connected internet line is ridiculous. To US. That's the problem and you damn well know it.

Simply put: I don't want to have my game be connected to the internet at all times. That's the core problem with me.

Ok I think I understand now - the fear is that the MP options of the game will limit the design choices for single-player, and lead to design choices which are not optimal for singleplayer (perhaps less focus on story-telling or something).
Well I guess we'll see. Blizzard has yet to disappoint and the design of aRPGs in general incorporates multiplayer very well. What's sure is that you can play the whole game as singleplayer.

Well earlier there was several posts on the old forums of people angry that they couldn't participate on the new D3 forum because they either no longer pay for WoW and/or don't play SC2. Some even posted that they just bought SC2 just for the D3 forum and have no desires to play it. Yeah that's stupid but it's bs what Blizz is pulling. Many Diablo fans that own D1 and D2 now cannot participate on the D3 forums unless they give Blizz more money. If this sounds fine to you then i don't know what else to say.
Sin317 wrote: | and for the people bitching and moaning about sp/mp ... nobody is forcing you to play with anyone, you can play d3 alone from a to z, always, never even have to meet another player ... |
Nobody is disputing that fact, the issue that Blizz fanboys can't understand is that people don't want to have to log into BN, create a server, password it, deal with the possibilities of lag, server disconnects, isp issues, downtimes, no pausing, Blizz ads, friend messages, etc, etc.., just to play their sp game they bought. It's strange that so many can't comprehend this. Blizz isn't doing this for piracy, nor are they doing this for the good of their customers. It's all about herding the sheep into their "community" to become potential cash farmers for their profit. I want part 3 of the Diablo arpg franchise not a pseudo-mmo cash farming AH trading simulator. pff.
