Am I right in thinking that because the DRM is just SteamWorks, the game should be cracked fairly quickly?

I really don't see the problem using a VPN, after all, your only unlocking goods that you have already paid for. Not as if your trying to rip them off, they have their money from you banked already. What difference should it make to them whether you play it 3-4 days early?

According to the website of a shop that sells games in my country "the edition which will be released" specifically in my country "includes a DLC code for downloading extra content with no extra fees."
The DLC code unlocks the extra mission, the two explosive weapons and the AUD.
What's not included is the 10000 credits, which I didn't want them in the first place, the rifle and shotgun, which I won't terribly miss, and all the artbooks etc which I have no problem to pirate, as I don't have room to store them in the first place, heh!
A second store says I have to preorder from them if I want that DLC code, and a third sells the game + DLC pack for 10 euros more, says it's a limited edition and that I have to hurry, because since it's a limited edition they'll run out of them.
Why do I get the idea that the first store is the only honest one, when saying the publisher has decided that (presumably all) copies in my country will have that DLC code? I'll wait for the game to be released here and if it turns out to be true I'm probably going to get it from the cheapest retail store I can find.

well I have all deus exs on my account and i wouldn't buy IW 
maybe it came when i went on a spending spree and bought the edios game collection 
well the steam copy comes with art work and shit, so i'm cool
I guess I'll have to buy the speshul stuff laters

What do you mean especially? Steam guard has absolutely nothing to do where you connect from. Steam Guard identifies your PC as authorized to access your Steam account.

The preload already includes a post-gold patch:
so likely you'll only need to wait for the decrypting of the files and download of the exe.
