looks pretty bland, but not too bad, the only console design i dont like is the xbox360 one,
the ps3 and revolution designs are ok i think.
wont win any beauty contests though.

I like the Xbox360 the best. I think we've had enough black rectangles though.
PS3 is really ugly in my opinion. Although honestly I don't really care that much.

i like the ps3 and revolution designs better cuz theyre flat, xbox360 is too broad. nowadays we want everything to be flat, we have flat monitors, flat tvs,
our digital receivers and dvd players are flat, i want my consoles to be too.

yea its much flatter than xbox 360, btw AnimalMother, lay off, you re really starting to be annoying like a 13 year old as you said.

I for one dont care if it is flat as I wont be putting anything on it. I am sure a lot of people will get the PS3 and the Xbox 2 and most likely not the revolution. Sony and MS has proven that they have some great games and to get the best of the best get both consoles. I think this time multi platform games will look better on the Ps3 though.

The PS3 looks the best in my opinion. The XBox really looks like garbage. I'm sorry, but it's just so garish and the controller looks piddly and even worse than the new Dualshock design.

Yeah I've just seen it, and I must say it looks classy I'd buy that thing for some next-gen Mario, Zelda, Metroid and Resident Evil alone

Most exciting thing I have hear so far...

Revolution will offer broadband access to a free Internet-based player matching service, similar to Xbox Live, that also will have downloadable versions of nearly every Nintendo game — from arcade classic Donkey Kong through current titles such as Mario Sunshine. I'm guessing it will be free or extremely cheap for NES/SNES and maybe N64... then relatively cheap for GC games...
This is hot. so hot. Imagine having all your old SNES/NES libraries to play on it.. rawr... I hope it works ...

Nintendo presentation didn't answer much about the revolution. What they said:
* There will be a tiny version of the GBA!! Hurrah
* You can download NES, SNES, N64 and GameCube games to your Revolution.
* It is 2x-4x faster than the GameCube.... hmmm, not impressed
.... and thats it. They didn't say anything about the revolutionary bit yet.

well 2x-4x faster than the Gc is still pretty damn fast :/ and i like the idea of a built in snes / nes player with i.e. access. surely that's making it hackable from the start?

Nintendo don't need blistering hardware to do what they do best and develop and publish games of extremely high quality. I'm not talking about production values in the same vein as EA-Games of course, but the gameplay that's present in practically every title you play.
The problem with this approach is that it'll get eaten alive by the competition unless they have something up their sleeve.
There is something 'cosey' about the revolution as things stand - but I'm still waiting for that sucker punch like the rest of you...

Wow... the Revolution is... disappointing thus far. I thought they were going to blow us away with something really special, not being able to download old games... something we've been able to do since as long as I can remember.

Just like the PS2 was obliterated by the XBOX which is far superior hardware/spec wise... but no, games != hardware, and if good games are rlsd for revolution, it will be fine

in reality, I think nintendo is dying...
Personally I'd be much happier if they stopped making hardware, and started making their games for ALL systems... mmm zelda on ps3... it would earn nintendo more money, yada yada yada

I agree. It would give them freedom to experiment.
But the main problem is that the revolution is coming out after both the xbox360 and the PS3. The PS2 was successful because it came out before the xbox, so it was already establised, even though the xbox had the superior hardware. 'The revolution' won't have that advantage.
