On most cars like that - VAZes, they're quite useless. Or even just removed.
Actually they're quite useful, even on that VAZ 2107 they will keep you inside the car. The problem is that usually they don't have backseat seatbelts factory made. They were paid for as an extra, so many cars don't have them. And you're not legally obliged to wear seatbelts on the back seats, if the car didn't have them factory made.
My AZLK 2141 '92 and 21412 '91 have front seatbelts that are with automatic tension spring, not sure about the VAZ 2107, but possibly it has the same. Only the old VAZ 2101 '8* are without tension springs.
well over here at least it's not obligatory to wear seatbelts if you're in the back
this reminds me, almost 3 years ago a classmate of mine died cause he didn't wear a seatbelt and was texting, clipped a truck and broke his neck
Here it's mandatory in the front seats, but not mandatory on the back seat, if the car doesn't have them. If you put seatbelts on the back seat, they become mandatory.
Pretty sure it's mandatory here in the UK, even if you're in the back seats, so long as the car is equipped with rear seatbelts. It's the passengers responsibility to use a seatbelt if they're over 14, the drivers if not.

That's a pretty dangerous turn, also cars going in the other direction are too close to your car, usually there is something between them on highways/fast roads. I avoid roads like that, there is one similar to that over here.
Its mandatory here (in all seats, and all cars have them in all seats, unless they were made, maybe, in the 60's...), but many people still dont use seatbelts, even drivers... I guess idiots are everywhere, and they often get what they ask for.

It's exactly the same here, mandatory..but people don't care until it's too late :/
I don't usually wear seatbelts when I drive around my town or am in the front seat. That is when I am sober but for some reason when I am drunk and sit in the front seat,,,I put seatbelt on.
