id say 70% i finish... just depends on how good teh game is. every now and then i catch myself ONLY continuing on playing a game JUST for the sake of finishing... games should be for enjoyment, not a chore, and thats usually the point i say fuck it and uninstall because im no longer playing for fun.

case and point duke nukem forever.

the more interesting question would be this:

do you even INSTALL most of the games you download... ive still got loads i never bothered to install

It's extremely rare when I don't finish a game I started, even if they're not good I get myself to just complete them. I rarely play RPGs so that might be one of the reasons of my high completion rate, as they're generally longer-lasting games. FPS games are more often than not short/medium length campaigns.

I had to do a great exercise of memory, and the only ones that I could remember so far were:

  - Soul Reaver, from 1999 iirc. This game bored me pretty quickly. Back then I couldn't stand any third-person games, I was nearly 100% a fps gamer.

  - Spiderman 3 (2006 I think?). At first I was having fun roaming a fairly-sized Manhattan, but right after I beat The Lizard, some game came out that interested me more and I never got back to Spidey. One day I just reformatted hard-drive and reinstalled windows and end of story.

  - More recently Just Cause 2. Believe me I tried to like it, I forced myself to play it but it just didn't grow on me. Graphics were beautiful, the grappling hook was awesome but in the end I just couldn't stand the repetitiveness of the game. I just stopped fooling myself and uninstalled.

 - Star Wars The Force Unleashed. Repetitive piece of shit. (And I love the Star Wars universe).

If I recall some other games (I doubt it) I'll edit the post.

EDIT: hmmm I think I overstated about my completion rate. I really doubt I have played a hundred games in the last 12-13 years. I'm gonna reassess and say it's more like 92%.

EDIT: just added SW The Force Unleashed to the list of unfinished, thanks to dataschmuck's post I remembered about it.

back in the old days, i finished almost every game, no matter the genre/crapines.

now i play crap ones 1h top, and the good ones (heh, i counted 2-3 this year) until i finish.

but i play for like 1 week to finish them, not in 2 drunken nights like 5+ years ago.

i blame my wife for that.

and the exceptional ones, a second play. like the witcher2.

and between the good ones, dungeon keep 1, and xcom 1/2 with some homeworld + mods on top.

yes, even if i despise some games only because i started them in the first place, same thing goes for pretty much everything i do, i don't like to quit

not always though, if it's a game i already finished and want to play only a certain part i'll play that and then that's that, but i usually never start something and then uninstall it unless it's horrible

i installed system shock 2 and duke 3d about 2 years ago on my laptop, won't uninstall them unless i finish them, even though now i've got the time to do it, i'm not really interested in finishing them though, but there's a time and place to do it, just not now

but there are some games i played alot yet i still dropped them after a while

- Shift 2, horrible AI and controls, i couldn't finish the nurgburgring lap, not to mention fucking win it

- DIRT 3, rally stages were too short and gyakhama was pointless so fuck that

50% ish when i was under the age of 20.

90% now that im hitting 30.

But i guess that is explained with i dont have that much gaming time and i only pickup games with really good score or games i know beforehand i will like. Tho the last FF game killed that series for me.

Up until a few months ago I was very OCD about finishing all the games I install - and I wouldn't even allow myself to start new games until some of the already installed ones weren't finished. Then I decided, like chiv said, games are for fun and I should only play those I truly enjoy.

So right now it's only about 30%, but few months ago was about 90%.

						It depends.

If I have time, if the game is good etc.

I didn't finish, and plan not to the DNF. The game sucks imo and I have no urge to finish it. As a matter of fact I'm gonna delete it now

There are tons of games I don't finish; but that's because I stop playing them to finish those that I like more

But sometimes I'll revisit them at some point in the future.

50% at most, between games not holding my attention or other games coming out, the recently played and completed games of mine are batman:aa , deus ex (must be my 12 playthrough by now) and vampire bloodlines (again)

^ That as well, I replay several of my favorite games once every year or so.. That takes time as well.

It depends on the amount of free time available, but usually if the game is good I always try to finish it. That's one of the reasons why I have many unfinished games these days

						I finish about 70 % of games..

And related to that subject...

I know a game which only 5 % of us finished*

Far Cry 2

Moreover, if you had to choose between one of the most repetive games of all times,

what would It be?

*not a fact.. and no I didnt finish it neither... very repetitive

Sadly no. I'm like you guys; I probably finish around 70% or so -- and this has nothing to do with piracy either, rather I just get bored of most games these days. They have to be pretty damned special, or I have to be bored out of my skull, to finish them all - though it was never like this "back in the day" where I finished pretty much every game I got my hands on.

Yes, whether certain people want to admit it or not; the golden age has long since passed.

Sometimes I don't finish my games, even if they are Game of the year worthy and I had a blast with them... for example Witcher 2. Great game, but I suddenly found myself playing BF:BC2 multiplayer which I hadn't played at all until I got to play with the guys from here... and I had it since christmas

Still got to finish titan quest and it's expansion set and I still have to play witcher 1...

I'd say I finish about ~ 20%. Maybe
