I'm curious to know why people are complaining about having to use browser to play the game, this is battlefield 3 we are talking about, the game itself needs a decent modern machine to run, something that shouldn't have any problem running your browser.

Lets be honest now it was an alpha and from my experience it worked well, the game goes from browser strait into loading screen not a bunch of useless things once it starts, the loading was just as fast as BC2. If you have a lot of tabs close them, if you don't feel like closing them then don't, i know most of use play games with our browser running anyways.

I know this is something new, but give it try before passing judgement, the game has not even been released.

Because it's nowhere near as efficient as having an advanced server browser integrated in to the actual game - plain and simple.

It's a ridiculously useless and inefficient replacement gimmick that has no place in a PC game with dedicated servers.

I'm planning to have a shorcut on my desktop that will open Battlelog in Chrome instead of my default Firefox and be done with it.

Well i think it pretty much sucks having to alt-tab out of the game just to change server. I've never had to do that in all my life playing a MP game.

You had to disconnect in Bad Company 2 to join another server... When you disconnect from a BF3 server you just return to battlelog and are able to join another game within seconds. Can't see the problem tbh.

For one thing you don't need to alt tab to change, its just as fast to quit and restart, a developer just stated this yesterday, no much difference in term of time as an in game server browser were you would need to quit the current game as well and refresh browser. As soon as you click join battlelog saves you spot in the server but you are making it sound like you change server every other minute.

By dedicated servers browser you mean the buggy mess that was BFBC2 server? browser? Like i said wait till you see it in action, it is different yes and i know that scares some of you but it will be ok you will see. Laughing

Lol did you try the battlelog? It was pretty advanced (you can filter anything, and obviously when the game release the battlelog will have more options) and DAMN fast.
Looks like people forget about HOW BAD server browser work on BC2, and still today has a lot of glitches. And I don't want to talk about how slow and buggy was BF2 browser back in the day. In the alpha trial the battlelog works flawlessly, people are too afraid of changes.

But why? If I find a suitable server I get at least an hour of playtime in it. I don't go into a server play for a minute and then find another server and do the same and continue enough to make this sort of 'server browser' thing a total nightmare.

I think spoiled people are spoiled.

It's not a bad thing. It's a different thing.
Don't like it, don't buy the game. If that one single feature is the reason you won't buy the game, then boy oh boy, go get a console.

I'm looking forward to trying the new battlelog server browser. One thing that always piss me off in server browsers integrated in the game is that it takes up to 20 seconds to load all servers and by the time it's loaded many servers are already full. On the other hand if you press F5 in web browser and you get complete up-to date list I imagine it would be faster.

Also, if game launches reasonably fast I don't see a problem. In BFBC2 it takes solid 20seconds to launch a game, connect to your account and load a server browser. And if you are trying to connect to different server you have to go through all the updating stats shit and in the end it takes another 20 seconds.

However if it requires a Firefox plugin I won't be happy, I reckon there may be compatibility issues unless you force the compatibility on when new Firefox versions is released.

Limited Edition there doesn't guarantee the Back to Karkand expansion. Though for £16 for the SE it's probably worth it. Any confirmation on when the Karkand expansion will be released and how much it'll cost for those who don't get the LE?

Heh, it's okay... I'm thinking the Standard Edition is a better buy right now, since the Karkand expansion shouldn't cost more than a tenner, and I'm not totally certain I'll enjoy the game; the less spent now, the better. Smile (It's taken me an age to get into BC2 multiplayer Sad ).

ROFL, I wonder if he tried running around knifing people, and when they asked him how's the game he said "it's alright, but the knifing is broken, I can't hit anyone from 60 feet away".
