Actually this was on the alpha and i can tell you for a fact the it works really well, the game loads pretty quickly and you can alt tab from the game out to the browser pretty smoothly(unlike some games that take forever).

Only problem i had with it was the origin in between, works like this on alpha

-log into battlelog website (see profile data, friends, etc.)
-pick a server from server browser on your the browser()
-battlelog launches origin( or just the game through origin if origin running already)
-Profit

That's lame. Means one of the big pluses to Origin - that it doesn't need to be running during the game - may not be around much longer. I'll wait and see before saying "Told you so". Razz

Is my GTX 275 going to cut it for this game or will I need an upgrade? My i5 750 and 4GB RAM should be fine, but I'm a bit concerned about the GFX card

You will need a 6870 oc or a 560ti to run the game smoothly.

The conquest mp video was recorded on SLI 580s, but a single 560ti will do fine.

Thanks, looks like it will have to be upgraded then. It's not that expensive either, especially if I can get £50 for the GTX 275 on flea bay.

u srs?

I am serious. Who in their right mind would NOT include an ingame server browser? That's just plain stupidity. I don't want to have to use Battlelog to join a game, I want to be able to launch the game and do all that stuff from within, like in BC2.

I played the Alpha as well, it didn't work really well for me. The game would often just crash or hang when I click Join on a server in the Browser.

So ok
Need to be logged in to origin, having a browser open with their battlelog and then the game itself.
I personally disliked the whole browser thingie and didn't find that it loaded into the game all that fast at all.
Since I have Firefox as my default browser and it has shit load of tabs when it starts I really don't want to be running that when I game and I'm unwilling to close the tabs. Meaning I have to use some other browser just to start the game.

I am dissapoint Sad

Um, Battlelog worked perfectly with Chrome, it simply is a plugin to your Firefox.

Nope, I barely even had time to test the game out since I was busy as fuck those two/three days when I got the alpha key.
I tried to do a quick search where I could actually add more input about what I thought could be added/changed, such as having the ability to "tone down the hud" since it was cluttered as fuck with all the "YOU JUST GOT 5 MILLIYAN POINTS FO TAKING A SHIT, YO!" or even the font size of those.
If I had more time I certainly would since I usually try to at least add some input if I get into beta (first alpha here tho).

Having no in game server browser is just plain retarded. What's the reasoning behind this ? How hard can it be to code a server browser like in the good old days (like f.i. UT99 had a great server browser ).

Don't like the fact that you need a browser open at all - Firefox currently has 1 tab open, and using 100MB, which, sure, is a paltry amount, but it's yet another resource-using program that I need running. Add into that, why should I have to install yet another thing on my computer, even if it is just a browser plugin anyways?

Can someone explain this server browser thingie? I heard mostly good things about it until now. Doesn't it have to do with stats and stuff / integration.

Basically it's a website that just lists a bunch of servers and then you can launch the game by picking a server and pressing join.
It's basically like an in-game browser except you do it in a real browser...

I understand that it will do a lot more than showing a list of servers to join. Namely:

1. Integrated stats system.

2. Integrated squad managing (I think it will be called "platoon")

3. VoIP system for communications ingame.

4. Not officially confirmed: future implementation of Battle Recorder.

And there could be much more.

1. worhtless for me but better than being stuck at "saving stats" when exciting the server browser (ala BC2)
2. Sound cool
3. lol, are they even trying to getting these things INTO the game... -.- gtfo with that BS
4. Sounds allright but I'm pretty sure I won't be using that either.

Only one thing comes to mind when I hear about this browser and that is;
"If it aint broke, don't fix it!"

Sad

xD Fair enough. I still have to try it myself as I wasn't in the Alpha. But I've been reading majority of positive feedback from people who were in it.

Now come on EA/Dice announce the date of beta already!

There was VoIP in BC2? Very Happy I've racked up nearly 400 hours playing and not a single time did I hear someone talking ingame.
