loved all 3 movies and this looks like an entertaining blockbuster more in the vein of the 1st movie which is great.
hope Hans Zimmer scores this also. his score for AWE was the best.

I can think of a story for Knightley and Bloom where neither of them are annoying.

Turner is killed within the first second and Swann becomes so poor, she can't take of her starving child so she has to strip for the viewers', err sorry, pirate's pleasure.
yeah as no-reason-but-eyecandy goes, im not keen on cruz in the movie. why do they have to shoehorn a slutty chick character in AGAIN? as gay as it probably sounds on paper, just having a guy-only flick, with jack and barbossa tearing shit up, would be so much better.
as it stands, at the moment, i dont actually care about this movie... its not even registering on my 'shit i gotta see' list. i mean yeah ill see it, but im not excited about the movie...
can't watch anything less than 720p bluray rips anymore these days
I'll give this movie a try as soon as that's out. I didn't enjoy part 2 and 3 nearly as much as the first one but they were still decent entertainment. I doubt this will disappoint in that regard.

i chanced it and grabbed it.. i dont expect an hd release for a couple of months yet.
i had zero interest in the movie when it was in theatres, downloaded the TS when i was really bored but never bothered watching it... and even when i saw the dvdrip, i was pretty indifferent about it.
and rightfully so... MEH is what sums up this movie best for me.
it just lacked the sense of adventure that the first films had for me, its an incredibly forgettable film.
even WORSE is that the characters this time around just arent memorable or interesting. blackbeard was wayyy underused, and hate on the 2nd and third movies as much as you want, but the AWESOME nighy's davy jones was awesome, and a really really good villain. gibbs was utterly pointless in this, he was hardly in it and not even remotely as interesting as he was in the previous ones - and the other interesting pirates didnt make an appearance either.
sparrow wasnt as fun, and while barbossa is cool as hell, and it was good seeing him again, he wasnt remotely as memorable or cool as he was in ANY of the previous films.
and that cruz chick? fucking forget it.
so yeah, it was OK, but nothing memorable and not that exciting. i honestly liked the original trilogy MUCH more than i did this movie.
6/10 for me.
oh yeah, and the religious guy really pissed me off. not because he was a religious nutter, i just really hated the character.
for me, know what the BEST part of the movie was? the last 3 minutes. the LAST THREE FUCKING MINUTES.. i was actually smiling, because to me, THAT was what i was wanting to see in a pirates movie...

barbossa getting a new ship and crew and going back to pirating, and jack getting the pearl back PLUS a whole shitload of new ships... i was like FUCK YEAH!! THATS the movie i wanted to see, not this shitty fountain of youth shit, with forgettable unlikeable characters... GIMME JACK AND BARBOSSA GOING PIRATING FFS!!!
so yes... the best thing about THIS film for me, was the glimpse at the end of what might come next.
