Why would you pay more, for less to do in your game, less to aim for, less to achieve?
It's such a common trend now. Not only do you pay for the game, you can now pay more to have small parts of it played for you. Do the people that enjoy this stuff order half fuckin eaten meals? Who enjoys this douchbaggery?
Actually, most pre-order unlocks are exclusive TO the pre-order itself. There are weapons/unlocks now that can't be acquired ingame by conventional means, only via pre-order. Though this of course doesn't apply to the above, as those are "day 1" unlocks
Bingo. Although in most games the pre-order "exclusives" are fairly fucking useless. The pay to win model usually only applies to free-to-play shooters (ex. APB).
I don't mind that when all you get is early access, but when there's shit like MoH and BF3 where you get "exclusive" weapons and gadgets then it's just bullshit...
Having day 1 access to the SVT40 sniper is going to be fucking rape in red orchestra.
I wonder how it will work in this game with regards to classes or if you just get to choose any weapon you want. If so, the sniper rifles are going to be massively overpowered just like they were in the mod. Hours of fun on that one map where the poor players playing the Germans had to run up that huge hill and attack the Russian fort.
Retailers demand it from devs/publishers to win customers, that's why pre-order bonuses are common place. I never use bonus items since they almost always ruin the game in some way.
