the animations and physics of condemned are great but it doesnt seem to run at 60 fps and thats pretty cheap, i mean its the nextgen after all and there are already games that dont hit the 60 fps mark.

Edit: GP force, huh? The ps2 were first mate (the DC was first but since it was quite limited when it comes to games, I choose not to count it) after the ps1, so that would be the ps2. The xbox werent that much ahead of the ps2 you know, and far from giving us a new "wow" factor after the ps1-->ps2 step 
So the cycle is: ps1-->ps2-->xbox360 (since it's coming before the other two). |
Well lets put it this way, if all I had ever played were PS2 games, and then the Xbox360 came out, then I would be wowed. But because of the fanatastic graphics of some of the better PC games the Xbox360 doesn't seem that special.
Solely from a console perspective the Xbox360 is pretty amazing.
I'm looking forward to what sony can pull out their ass now though. I feel like that company really knows what it's doing, I mean they've squeezed every last ounce out of the PS2, especially compared to microsoft. I've always thought of the PS2 as the underdog, with regards to graphics power in the console world, so it'll be nice to see if the playstation can come out on top.

all ive got to say is the raw power of this machine is great. the first games to come out wont even come close to pushing this monster machine because everything written atm isnt even being written on final versions of the dev kits theyve been written on alpha and beta versions.
But i think microsoft is totally going in the right irection and making this machine everything you could need for home entertainment in one box
1 trillion floating point operations per second 1st gen games that were built on alpha dev kits (only 2 cpu cores and a standard ati card set nothing like the 48 piped monster we'll be getting) is a safe bet that the games that come out in the futur will be jaw dropping. Hell its more powerful in terms of pure rawness than a pc is likley to get for a while especially at the price the xbox360 will go for

Gears of War is running at an estimated 80% (that's quite alot for such an early game) of the visual capabilitilies of the new xbox, so if you consider that this game will be quite an early game after the launch, I'm not too sure that games will look much better than gears of war (epic is also a very skilled dev studio). Although, that game looks absolutley incredible so it doesn't mather that much, but the machine is supposed to live for quite a few years, and if the graphical steps will be minimal it can hurt the machine in the end  . I mean, no one expect that a first year title will look like a last year title, it has never happened before, not even close. People like to see things envolv and it's also a way to keep them hooked.
I personally like it when games envolv year after year, and I'm not even a graphic whore
So in my opinion, it's better to release games like gears of war later and not right at the start, but this is just my own opinion, I'm sure many have another opinion

Yeah gears of war looks fantastic, I don't care how much of the Xbox 360's power it uses as long as it runs smooth.

yea as long as it runs at 60 fps its cool, but sadly i saw many xbox 360 game scenes that ran only 30 or less, and thats a very bad sign considering the console isnt even released yet.

I don't care about 60fps either, just that it's smooth with no lagging.

that 80% stuff is PR fluff. I've heard Acclaim use similar numbers. Look at them, they don't even make games anymore

Gametrailers.com is an awesome site! A big thanks to whoever posted that link. I spent most of the day downloading videos from that website and I have to say Full Auto is the best next gen game I have ever seen ... so far. Ghost Recon3 looks mighty impressive too and Infected on the PSP looks like hella good fun!
