I, too, got to 90% patch earlier (after five hours!) and it failed. GamersGate really needs to sort their servers out :\ Anyway: I played PoBC for five hours yesterday and without any crashes -- AFTER I switched to XP-SP2 Compatibility. Before that it would crash every other minute.

Just grabbing the MU upload now.

Kinda big for a patch. Like more than 1/2 of the game (game is 1,62 GB).

You call a gig-worth-of-space file small? Shocked Plus, some sharing sites such as Megaupload have a size restriction for files/archives, apparently.

It was slow. Devastatingly slow. For a large portion of people. You were among the lucky ones.

It's already on steam. In any case, I've been playing it for couple of hours and it seems like a simpler version of Pirates!. Not sure what is the point of releasing this 7 years after the superb Sid Meyer's remake without anything new to add. Even the graphics are hardly significantly better. The humor is fine, but the gameplay is very shallow. Does it get better later?

I've been playing for quite some time and really enjoying it, so yeah... $20 is worth it. Just play the demo if you're not sure - or, better yet, the ISO "demo" Wink

The game's good but it gets pretty repetitive over time with both sea and inland missions.

I wish somebody makes Sea Dogs 2 or something that game had perfect pacing, you start with a small ship and anything with more cannons than you and you were screwed, and in the end you build up your own fleet of man-o-wars (although they were crap, too slow and too expensive to maintain) or destroyers.
