Because if your dreams came true then we'd have a lot of shit games that were made because you liked the franchise, but the derpsolederpbags wouldn't be able to handle the awsum, so they'd dumb it down to the basics and ruin it.
Hell, how is that any different from today anyway? Great games, derpsole derps couldn't handle them, whined bitterly on every forum known to man, developers dumb them down. Rinse and repeat.
Because Crimson Skies was as arcade as arcade gets, to be honest, it was only the Xbox1 limitations that meant it had to be so mercilessly gimped (removing create-a-plane!? ) I'm sure current hardware could have a proper Crimson Skies. It's not like there's anything TO dumb down
Like I said; there's nothing to dumb down in Crimson Skies. The first game has been copied, quite successfully, by other games like Secret Weapons over Normandy and the Blazing Angels series. They were practical carbon-copies of Crimson Skies... only missing the PC's excellent "create-a-plane" function. I honestly think the game (original PC one) could work today.
