There are compatibility patches (By other modders.) for that. Smile

EDIT: Eve/WMX I managed to find again.

That's cool JB. Thanks. But I'm also using ProjectNavada and I guess they will eat each other apart because PNV adds some weapons to the game too and also changes them (charging of AER14 and such). Also PNV needs C-Patches for WMX too.

I hope Epsilon reads this and could explain if this is true or not.

@JB
What does this do exactly? Does it make better use of my RAM (got 4gb)?

The "4GB patch" works similar to this - http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php - but with additional hooks due to the Steam DRM (And optionally also to function with NVSE.) essentially tags the exe as /LargeAdressAware to allow it to utilize up to 3.5 - 4 GB of RAM in total before running out of allocatable address space.

Normally though New Vegas will get highly unstable and with noticeable stuttering once you go over 1.5 GB of ram usage (Unsure if it's also related to VRAM usage.) as the normal value is a couple of hundred MB with the default settings and no texture replacers.

However it will allow the game to function without crashing (Or hanging with a load screen.) if you have exceptionally high RAM usage in the game already (1.8 GB and above.) but it won't be all that stable for long for most individuals though it seems a bit varied depending on system and of course mods.
(Average is about 50 - 60 mid-size mods before the game gets a bit wonky, you'll notice this rather obviously as a in-engine bug will cause Novac to disappear as a result of this, smaller mods work though so 100 or more is of course doable.)

I've just tried this one and I have to say that it's really good . The Night Brightness Adjuster is recommended though, especially if one is using this mod with the one that enables Dof/adjusts the contrast (nights would be definitely too dark without the tool).

There are three ways to keep the darkness and make the athmosphere more immersive while keeping the game playable.

#1 Use the "Friend of the Night" Perk. (You can perk it yourself with levelup or you'll use the Nevada Skies Configurator under "Cheats" and activate it. The warnings are just a joke, so no worries).

#2 Install Electro City
http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37908
It adds various lightsources to the game world. Imho it's fantastic with NVSkies.

#3 Project Nevada's vision modes on some headgear.

I'll post some screens soon.

Thanks, combining the Electro City mod (which looks very well-made) with Nevada's skies' perk sounds like the best option Smile

When I completed the game the last year there were like 10-15 minor useful mods available, it's always surprising to see how much work the community is constantly doing to improve this masterpiece

Is there any place I can download a save game with all the weapons ?. I've finished it on my 360 but recently got a PC so I want to play all those DLC's with similar weapons that I had before rather starting the game from scratch.

Omfg, finally tried EnhancedShaders. Used the Full-Postprocessing-AA+SSAO+DOF.

It looks seriously retarded Laughing
Wtf is this? Are they serious? Also, the SSAO is totally bugged for me Laughing Just saw a 2nd floating SSAO shadow version of ED-E in the sky and lot's of SSAO-Shadows through my weapon model.
It looks cool on screenshots, yes, but playing with this? No thank you
Seriously, imho it looks absolutely retarded ingame. Maybe you'll get some good results if you configurate the shit out of it... but I'm defineatly not willing to lay that hassle on me. Not after I saw this in action
No wonder that most people who are using this also use shit like Shojo Race or any other Anime mod Laughing
No offense guys but that's how I got the knowledge of that mod's existance... The posted pictures on Nexus... Full of little Anime-children, Anime styled Chicks and Pipboys and other absolutely out of place crap... and mostly all of them got EnhancedShaders too Laughing

I hope Dynavision delivers better results. If not I'll rather stay with the DoF Mod Ixi posted Wink

*EDIT* Lite Version was a bit better. Nonetheless, I don't like how it seems to change the look of NVSkies-URWLFied. Better but still not my thing.

For those of you using Poco Bueno textures, there's another good texture mod you can use in conjunction with it. I find it looks best to install Poco Bueno first, then install this on top of it
http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41101

Another visual enhancer I use adds different types of vegetation. It makes the wasteland look more interesting IMO.

*EDIT*

God damn... this has become work. I re-installed and I'm creating FOMOD files out of every mod that hasn't one or isn't already prepared for FOMM.

Jesus, ever tried to merge NV Bounties 1+2 into one FOMOD? Takes ages..

But me no like WME. Me like WMX way more than WME.

Also Antistar made WMK for F3 (and other Mods). His mod is the reason why Obisidian added the feature to NV. This equals to me that Antistar has way more experience in what he's doing than the WME maker. He also keeps WMX to have a more Vanilla look. Which suits my taste perfectly.

You can ally Brotherhood and House if you are a BoS member though, but it's not easy (Speech 90 or what it was.) and it might require a modification if it's not fixed in official patches as the condition for this option to appear was incorrectly set.

Okay, with a load of mods (increased spawns are demanding) and enhanced textures installed you'll get limited playtime until the game crashes (well, happens without mods too). Even if you're using the 4GB loader (I only got 4gb of RAM) and Merged Patches.

But I fixed this... well at least I doubled the time before the game overloads and crashes.
I just saw my 4gb USB stick on my desk and then it struck me... Readyboost!
Tried it before with no noticeable results in various games so the chances were pretty low that it would make a difference. At least I thought so but got proven wrong in the aftermath.

It works (for me). Hell, I even can see that the game wants to crash since the windows loading circle pops up. When this happens my stick starts to blink like an christmas tree and 5 seconds later the game continues. It added between 3-5 hours more playtime for me.

So, if you have an USB stick around and know what I'm talking about, give it a try I say.
But you have to use the 4GB loader (NVSE compatible version is available on the NVSE page).

How would a vanilla NV playthrough fare, in this regard? Completely unmodded, save for maybe some tiny script like unlimited ammo (which I guess won't affect stability very much), that is.

Is it like Fallout 3 (vanilla), where after having put about 30-40 hours into the game, it gets increasingly unstable and crash prone?

It will, save system issues persist since Oblivion but it's a couple of hundred hours now instead of ~100 (If you were lucky, utilities really helped though like Wrye and other tools.) due to save "bloating" (A lot of what you do is stored in the save but it builds up rather quick and it doesn't purge itself without other utilities so though patches have tried to improve it you can't be certain the save will always be reliably though 100 to 200 hours will be easily doable without mods as far as I know, probably it can go even higher but the wasteland is a bit small so around those 100 hours you probably saw and did nearly everything you wanted to do including DLC, same goes for Fallout 3 and Oblivion though with mods the time can be infinite but it also increase this "bloat" and regularly loading and unloading mods will drastically increase file size and affect stability.)

Yeah, I always suspected it worked in some such way. :/

Being somewhat of a completionist, merely knowing that the game at some point will become unplayable is really off-putting, and keeps me from enjoying these otherwise fantastic games. Thanks for clearing that up.
