Ahhhh... Hating on MS, not Ubi. Fair Fair.
Anyways, main point of this post is this:
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/313088/first-from-dust-review-9/10-in-edge/
------------
"This is a strategy game on the outside, but in its secret heart it's a lot more than that," Edge says. "Few games can offer this kind of scale and organic growth, few push you towards switching tactics with each rhythmic wash of the tides, and few are as convincing - or as gritty and robust - in their simulations."
It adds: "The payoff is a god game that's genuinely worthy of the genre's name: a prolonged and intricate rumination on the punishing forces of nature that makes you feel the duty - and the joys - that great power brings with it."
-------------
The Edge review itself is actually going up at 5pm (BST, presumably, since it's a UK site), and probably relates to the 360 edition, but thought I'd post here. Currently the review page is a place-holder

The delay PC version of a game for X months is a standard practice with Ubisoft anyway.
Oh and Edge... they are a bunch of pompous asshats with a stick shoved up their ass.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

I had no doubts it was gonna be a good game.
Just too bad I won't be buying it.

Do we know if this uses Orbit or what they now call their DRM?
(Or was that just the name for the social integration stuff since Settlers 7?)

What do the following people have in common?
Jim Sterling
Michael Pachter
Robert Bowling
Robert Kotick
Answer; they're all cancers on the gaming industry and should just fuck off and die.

Odd that he references Lemmings and Sim City, but not Populous, surely? Unless I'm very much mistaking what the game is.

Good news, than it's at least an 8/10 game.

From the looks of it, all you do in this game is clear a path for your dudes to reach the level exit (village), which has more in common with Lemmings than Populous. Seems more like a demo of the engine to show off what it's capable of. Hopefully modules will add some depth to the gameplay later on.

haha, okay i understand why you wouldn't like him. personally i think he is the only one in the reviewing industry willing to actually put a realistic score to his opinion.
gametrailers giving it a 7.8, what that means is its a pretty underwhelming game, but they would never give a game by such a respected developer the score that ACTUALLY reflects that.
i love eric cahi, i think i will love this game. but i can respect jim sterling actually giving realistic scores when he doesn't connect with a game. rather than the total and utter oversaturation of 8s that seems to go to any single game that has half decent graphics and responsive controls.
i mean look at metacritic. compare the movie scores to the game scores. the games review industry is pathetically pandering. it why i never take games metacritic scores seriously at all. because unless the game is a travesty, its getting 75-85 every single fucking time.
so yeah, i dont LIKE jim sterling, but i like that when he is disappointed by a game, he has the balls to show it. so to say he is a bane on the industry is just totally wrong in my personal opinion.
i understand its fun to hate people. really you should be hating the sites that have a review score scale of 7-9.5 (as in 90% of them)

Jim Sterling is a pathetic loser and nothing he says about anything is "realistic" - nor does it have anything to do with "courage", he's just trolling everybody because he knows he can.

There's already serious games with kinect support, but the level of controls just utterly sucks... ie. there's Virtua Tennis 4. But it's just something slapped on top of the game, you can only play some simple exhibition matches instead of whole career.
