PS. Probably the first live action trailer worth watching in the past few years, it actually has a point, I'm glad they did that and not some hurr durr shite.
Yeah, this trailer is indeed a very deep and mind-bending ride. It has everything that 15 years old homegrown conspiracy theorist always craved for. Corrupted government, the illuminati and the evil man-made drugs that allow politicians to control the whole society [although they could also throw in some jews and cyclists, because every conspiracy-theory is incomplete without them].
But on a serious note - here you got the same typical left winged anti-corporationist cliche [just without this whole CGI fireworks]:

My sincere apologies for every politically inadvertent nerd from nfohump. It was not my intention to destroy the immersion of this indispensable and very perspicacious trailer.
Watched the trailer. Had a nerdgasm.
Now what I always ask myself - and yes I'm actually trying to get a debate on transhumanism started here xD - would I augment myself? (Same question came up back when I played Shadowrun).
Would I let them remove my eyes, lungs or one of my appendages (who all work completely fine - if it's medically necessary to remove them, that's a different story) and replace them with cybernetics ones? Just because they're more efficient, more powerful, offer functionalitities that my biological originals don't?
In a game (even in SR) that decision is always so easy to make: 'sure, why not, there's almost no downsides to it, right?'
I can't say. I seriously cannot say if I'd be willing to, for example, get cybernetic replacement for my eyes (fyi my eyesight, while not completely horrible is nowhere near perfect).
Would any of you?
(Once I realised this dilemma Shadowrun's essence system - as a measurement of your humanity - made a whole lot more sense to me).
p.s.
Now, what I'd like to know if it is the dev's intention to spark thoughts like this. Anyone got a dev quote regarding sparking discussions about ethics, moral and transhumanistic philosophy?
Trusting a corporation with removal and replacement of your vital organs/body parts would be insane, IMO. We are already living in a world where for some reason everyone is trying to track you, get your personal info and, to some degree, manipulate your thoughts. I wouldn't be willing to make it easier for them by installing shady tech inside my body. Easy-to-remove enhancements like contact lenses with augmented reality functions could be acceptable, I suppose, but eye replacements? Hell no.
