on topic: I've just reinstalled the game and updated it to the latest version, but for some weird reason the radio doesn't play anymore. It's not a big problem of course, but it's kinda strange since it used to work just fine in the past.. Any way to fix it?
Never seen that before, I really need to browse more alternate sites again.
(I used to browse weird stuff like Exxet or what it was - thus my knowledge on those weird things I used to post and all that - but I suppose, might not be entirely related but I guess I'll need to go some quick meme course via 4chan and B to get up to date on what's happening, all these odd smileys for example and such references, social stuff like Facebook will be skipped however as I'm not very active in such things though I do check Twitter posts on occasion as they've become more popular.)
I've already had my account blocked once for fiddling with VPN while logged on to steam, think I'd rather wait a couple more hours, or perhaps just get someone in US to gift it to me.
Hmm, yeah I've heard about that, I don't use VPN or anything like that for similar safety reasons (The above links will just localize the store page, ?cc=SE is what I usually see, ?CC=UK is what I use alongside US to compare pricing now and then. )
Gifting is one possibility, Spykez did that sort of thing but it's late night in the US now if I have the time zone correctly (Seems this was a midnight launch.) so it'll probably be out in the EU before that's viable.
(Could perhaps upload the thing to cs.rin to have it more available though apparently this is the biggest DLC yet and the file size reflects this as there's a lot more voice acting done for example, would take a few hours then but not impossible to handle.)
They are a month late. I hope that Lonesome Road will be ready for an August release ( was initially scheduled for July, while Old World Blues was scheduled for June). On the good side, we have the patch. So let's hope that Old World Blues will not introduce new bugs.
You need 1.4 as the patch description and changes clearly state, it updates the engine and adds some of the basics the DLC utilizes.
(EDIT: And of course you need to enable the ESM/ESP file.)
If so you suffer from a rather frequent bug, there's a lot of different possibilities but it's usually AI corruption as part of the savegame degradation that occurs gradually as you play, most command and easiest to fix is to wait in the main landmass (Wasteland, not the specific DLC landmasses.) and hope whatever AI is trying to reach you is capable of doing so (NCR ranger giving that radio item for a example or the star bottlecap collector once you've found ten or so of those for another.)
Above command toggles AI and thus as it's not processed said NPC or what it might be no longer tries to reach you.
(Which in the case of a different landmass is impossible and causes a sort of loop and usually a crash.)
Happens more frequently with mods enabled or on longer playtroughs, I consider it fairly unavoidable but it depends on how you play I suppose.
(Various settings and such might also stress the game more and cause this earlier.)
That's a guess at least but there's of course other things that can have gone wrong.
(If you are using mods they better conform to the changes in 1.3 and 1.4 or you'll get a similar corruption but for cells - areas in the game are called that - which is a pretty severe problem, also possible for other FormID - that's objects and most everything else in game as the engine references them - based conflicts - http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=42352 .)
Was meant to be released towards the end of June but got delayed as work on patch 1.4 dragged out the timeline a bit, allowed more testing and such though so I guess it's for the better.
EDIT: Though I suppose it never really had a exact release date until this announcement only that there would be one DLC per month.
(Also originally there were four DLC planned and listed under Steam but now there's five so it might mean there's something else planned after Lonesome Road after all.)
It's standard practice, though I do not get the point with a DLC. Digital versions of games are usually region based released so it can coincide with retail release.
Tried to play this game again today hoping that stutter/frameskip bug when looking around was fixed in the latest update.
Sadly it was not and makes the game annoying and unplayable for me. The only fix i could find were some 3rd party mods that provided a half assed solution.
Anyone know whats going on here? i have a nvidia 295GTX non oc'd, this is the only game i have issues with.
SLI (And Crossfire.) are both problematic (EDIT: Sorry I meant for the game of course, should have clarified.) so that's the most immediate source of the problem, I've no idea what your CPU is either but that can likely be another possible thing to look at (I keep repeating myself but I don't think the memory and CPU utilization and optimization is all that great in this Gamebryo/Bethsoft engine hybrid.)
Texture mods will mess this up even more of course (Default memory and cache is for about 128 to 256 MB to deal with after all, can be tuned but that doesn't make it better or faster more than it just makes it take up more size in RAM / VRAM.)
Scripts (Again at the CPU.) can also cause problems but usually not very noticeable unless there's a lot of them (Mods for example using scripts always running to say constantly check a condition - or several thus stacking up - on the player status or such.)
Some ideas mostly, it's not really all that fixable as the game will occasionally jerk or stutter even on superior hardware.
(Which is unfortunate and one of the reasons I've been a bit repetitive with how I hope this RAM and CPU thing is one of the areas improved upon in the rewrite for the Creation engine Bethesda now uses for Skyrim.)
Utilities like the stutter remover also help via NVSE (Replacing the memory heap algorithm completely, suppression certain sections of the code and much more such complicated things I know very little about.) but progress is pretty sporadic and the 1.3 patch build was never fully finished so for 1.4 it doesn't really work all that well.
(Game might start but might be unstable as it hooks to the wrong addresses now or it might cause other erratic behavior, low-level hooks can be difficult for new updates to the game code / engine - exe file mostly I mean sort-of.)

That P2P group release has spread across numerous sites so it should be easy to obtain at just around 500 MB packed, it's the same thing as what a scene release would have (Files and that.) but a bit less "proper" (And no custom installer, haha.) so it might not have reached certain channels yet like some newsgroups or stricter private sites for example.
EDIT: "Fallout New Vegas: Old World Blues DLC-P2P" or so I think it was called.
(P2P is a funny title as such, isn't Homemade or likewise a better tag for it, though it means sort of the same thing / NoScene I think was used at times also.)
