Well puzl. Changing the fov is no magic. Just open the ini and enter 75 instead of 55 and you'll have a perfectly playable fov ...

It doesn't work in SP mode. FOV is locked at 55.

It's just a matter of drivers for me, with the old 10.5 I have a quite solid performance (~35fps average) at 1080p, while with the most recent ones non only the framerate is worse, but there's also the annoying stuttering as well as some flickering textures

Never had issues with onboard audio myself either. And it was realtek as well. Now it goes straight to the AVR, but can't say there was any impact on performance negative or otherwise...

Surprised to hear the game runs better on a dual core for someone though. If anything this game liked more CPU in my experience.

Is it actually still worth buying this game now? Do many people still play online? I could get bad company 2 for £20 on steam.

Hehe why would you need a shotgun when you've got a sniper rifle? Very Happy

With some practice the "close-combat-snipering" is indeed effective, and it can be veery annoying for the poor victims Razz

Well, I don't know what to tell you, most of those people will probably go to BF3 to never return again. I know I'm doing that. I will uninstall BC2 after BF3 gets released.

Agreed, £20 is definitely too much, around 10-12€ would be an appropriate price imo (during the Steam Sales it was 7,50€, which was amazingly good)

This game has shoddy hitdetection, random lag and everytime you shoot an enemy the server rolls a dice. I wouldn't take any of those 1337 and cool montages seriously, this game is way too random.

Hey,
I lost my BC2 dvd but I had the serial written down somewhere. As I bought a new pc I reinstalled it with Reloaded's version. I enter the serial at the beginning and the setup goes on normally.
I chose Online activation method so as not to mess things up with the crack. However when I launch the game it says my registration code is invalid!

I tried with the crack but then I can't see any servers for multiplayer.

What is going on ? Is my serial said to be corrupted because I used Reloaded's rlz to install the game ?

Well thanks for suggestions guys, but I went and bought a rockfish soundcard and disabled my onboard one. Still same shit happening. After 10-15 mins of gameplay, sound goes into super slow mo, then screen turns white where i can only see my mouse and after that I cannot do anything but restart.

Dont know what to do now, Im really enjoying the game, but cannot play it for long due to this shit.

First thing that came to my mind. So I kept checking my temp during gameplay and cpu never reached 60 and card barely got to 75. Could it be memory overheating? I remember something similar happening when I OC'd ram too much, but when it crashed it was usually to a BSOD. But I currently dont have any OC on anything.

Btw, sometimes if I act quick enough, and click exit as soon as the stutter and sound slow mo begins, I can safely exit to desktop.

Thanks guys. Origin also tells me that the key is not valid so I probably made an error when I wrote it down...

So I've bought this on Origin, and I got the Digital Deluxe Edition, it's all peachy until it needs to install it, when it decides to slap me in the face with a fancy don't send error bla bla horseshit from the autorun.
Fun part being, it actually manages to install 0.1% of the game if I move the installer to another folder lol wut

Good deal, but I expect most people will move on to BF3 in a few months. I guess it worth it to get familiar with the game.

With which graphical settings FOR MULTIPLAYER do you play guys?

Having the effects too high makes the game very dark and the bloom and hdr does not help spotting enemies either Smile

Don't have any particular issues with bloom. I mean, it's quite pronounced, but it doesn't affect visibility all that much for me.

Playing at 1080p 2xMSAA 16xAF, all high except HBAO and VSync off (having VSync on doesn't seem to have any effect - I still get tearing). Used to play with 4xAA and HBAO on, but fps could drop to 30s when you get your face in those particle effects - affected my aim in the middle of heavy action.
