I recently upgrade my motherboard and CPU from an Athlon XP 2400+ and MSI KT4AV to an Althon64 3400+ and MSI K8N Neo Platinum and since then my LiteOn SOHW-1633S writer will only burn the 8x discs it used to burn at 6x. I have checked the DMA settings for the drive and they are set to Ultra DMA4 - 66. Not sure if that is right not though? I have changed the cables, removed the nforce3 drivers and reinstalled them, removed Nero and reinstalled it and even tried removing the registry entries for the drive so that Windows XP can redetect them. I am now out of options. Anyone got any more ideas please?

AMD Athlon64 3400+
MSI K8N Neo Platinum
1024MB DDR
6800GT 256MB AGP
Windows XP Professional

Im at work atm but having just accessed my PC via VNC I have downloaded the drivers from the link you provided and included is an ASPI driver check utility which tells me they are not installed! I have installed them and will have to wait to get home to attempt a burn. I had them installed before I upgraded so I did not think I would have to reinstall them.

Thanks for your help skidrow. I will get back to you when I have had chance to get home and try burning a disc Smile

Cool not heard of that. If the ASPI drivers dont fix things, I will check that out. Thanks!

Ok, the program is called Media Code Speed Edit. You can download it here, read the changelog to see if your writer is supported:

Warning! The following app can make your writing results useless if you change the writings speed of media without care (so don't make your writer to burn 4x media with 16x speed Wink )
