Yup, 1.1 patch was mostly about helping mages a bit... From Dev boards, looks like DC will continue to fix bugs so we might just see a great game in a few months after all... Very Happy

Yes Gore was very good at his time, and Return to Mysterious Island is also very good, Sentinels is also a fair game from the same company and Superpower 2 is good if your an hardcore non-real-time strategy player !

after the 1.1 patch this game is great!

some questions though:

1. if u start a game with normal difficulty, but then reduce the difficulty to easy in-game, does the change take effect only with a new game?

2. When you die, how do you load a game without having to exit back to the main menu each time?

3. is there a quick save and quick load key?

it hs complete day/night cycles. it is a v ood rpg, just very very tough

But do the day and night cycles actually have any influence on the game like gothic, or is it just cosmetic, like morrowind?

Hell I just can't seem to find the exit out of fargrove, damnit. Are the gates ment to activate at some point as I have talked to most everyone, even broke into the palace LOL.

I miss the View Distance of Gothic 2, someone tell me it gets better (fog goes bye bye) once you progress?

I don't think so! Play on normal Wink

2 and 3:

You don't have to go back to menu to load! If you hit "R" on the keyboard you restore your self! This is how it's done! But you lose all ur exp points if you die. So hit "C" when you die and use them! The push "R" to restore!

There is no quick save and load! Just "R" and ESC and save!

You will be able to exit if you finnish the QUSTS! You get a letter from "the lord in the castle" that let's you out to go to Arindale!

Is there any map in the game?? Like diablo or something, because it seems that i am making cirkels in the sewers? :/

I see the option toggle automap in ( options/keyboard ) but it doesn't get toggled Confused

No copy protection added - load screen doesn't flicker, game quite stable with no crashes, graphic options now work - go up to 1600 mode okay. Game is kinda good - just no background music - got about 4 quests now & am in the monastery crypt battling skeletons. Killed 2 trolls - Man they are *tough* !

Yeah its a bit like a fungus - it grows on you (!) Have to give it a few hours & it becomes definately something worth playing - 1 of the quests has you going against Drakes n Dragons - woohoo Shocked Now how many health potions do I need?

Wow! The Magic Mouth, The Guardian of the Tomb & a floaty thing in a beam of light - battling the Headless Brutes! This game suddenly becomes quite good Laughing Woot Just devasted teh Guardian beast & have the magic word - ESPIRITUS CALDERE in glowing letters above the slain beasts body. Man I luv my Urgoth warrior - he's *NASTY* Surprised

Hee hee my 1st ring - bless - a Demon Ring *nasty* - screw Star Wars & light sabers my Urgoth warrior with the Sword of Striking & Samurai armour kicks ass. KoToR preapre for thy end For Doom is Striding this Land Very Happy

Argh this is bliss - killed 5 mummies with a few sword strikes - yup the secret is balancing all those nice feats & abilities with your armour/weapons - very low penalty now & great at combat. YES!

Make sure you guys check for Loose Bricks & use L-Shift to activate these - got 1 hidden area with goodies! Man I love this game - its great - please ignore my earlier vitrolic posts as I was sexually frustrated at the time <girlfriend off on one - groan> Smile

You see the Guardian Mouth stone - opposite him is a passageway - explore this & you run into a large demon beast with a mist breath attack - keep hitting the beetch & dodging - run away if you are wheezing. By this stage if you have pooled your combat stats & weapon feats (just like KOTOR) you can easily defeat his ass. If you're a mage you'll probably get wasted as the game is combat-centric. Once the beast dies you see the 2 words floating above him for 1 minute in large capital letters - very cool!

Woot! Outside Fargrove now on West Gate Road by a sign for Arindale (!) And guess what - its morning and the view distance has increased to at least "medium" (not as far as Gothic 2). Man I tink I vill go & buy this one - its GreeeeaaaTTT! Lets see what *nasty* beasties are outsied shall we - Urgoth are you ready <grunt> to get Eggy <grunt grunt> with Mr Biggy? <squeal> Wick Wick Frash

Hah Just wasted some Borogrim soldiers - they are armed with fangtip blaeds & have good armour - your character should be fairly tough to go outside!

Wo outside a sign for arindale, fargrove & bolen fields - sheet! gonna have to be an all-nighter Razz

Man this outdoors is bloody *huge* - I've been going 115 minutes & I still haven't gotten to arindale

Amazingly enough - run the update 1.0 - 1.1 & there is no added protection (!) Just play the game as usual - even your 1.0 saves work ok - yippee!

The gameworld of this game is absolutely dead. No people in towns except a few guards, no one in bars and pubs.

It's as if the developers had no time to incorporate any populace. It just lacks any sense of immersion.

if only they had spent more time polishing this baby, it'd have been an awesome RPG.

Thats one thing I love about gothic, how alive the game world feels.

Any good tips for opening chests? How does Bash option really work? Since I'm a warrior I don't have a lot of skill in trap disabling but when I try to use the bash option ( <-- loads of strength) I only manage to open lvl 1 chests, all the other ones just fry my ass.

If you have not put skill points into this feat then use lockpicks from your inventory. definately put points into this feat as opening chests gives you good weapons/armor

Ouch! Just completed teh Elder Test in Arindale - man that was tough Go Now to Ulm!
