Yeah dodger2020 - that link is on the page but if ppl can't get it just use the codes to buy the games directly from GMG and don't forget to swap the last digit of the MoW code from 2 to 1.

The link is to the sun's tech section then you have to locate the right image block to click on. I just linked it directly. No big deal.

As for changing digits, I changed nothing. I entered the codes directly as listed on the sun's page

THESU-NFREE-ARMA2
THESU-NFREE-MOFW2
THESU-NFREE-BLOXX

"THESU-NFREE-MOFW2" doesn't work. The correct code is "THESU-NFREE-MOFW1"

It worked for me. I added all three games to my cart. I pasted those EXACT codes, one at a time, into the box. I have all three games. I didn't change any digits to 1.

Yeah m8 - I was saying it's better to use the link you posted rather than trying to get it off the page that kept 404ing.

Winner winner chicken dinner! Very Happy

I was going to do it again with all three games and another email and went through the whole process but apparently they track code usage by IP as it told me I've already used the codes Very Happy And as long as it takes with their servers getting hammered harder than an altar boy, I'm not going to bother trying it with a proxy Smile

Man I love this game, the combination of ACE, CBA, and the RWS-sounds is awesome, and I'm currently playing MSO (Multi-session operations) which is a pretty real scenario with roaming hostiles over the entire map and the squad leader have to make own objectives. I'm currently playing it on the Fallujah-map which is crazy fun.

:]

If you're downloading it from GMG there's no need of additional patches, the game is already at the latest version (1.10) Smile

Afternoon ixi,

thanks for that I did think it might be so but I have no experience with this capsule thingy.. Oh well all good I guess... Is this version able to take any expansions etc that were released seperately?

Im sure the expansions/mod additions are not able to be used like in old arma days where one could just drop them in as a mod regardless of keys etc..

right now that capsule thing wont finish fetching details of my game portfolio Very Happy im guessing its being hammered or something..

And it runs smooth now on my rig, unlike it did when released. So do we have a nfo server?

Hmm honestly I don't know if Capsule supports the expansions bought elsewhere (GMG has only Arma 2 available atm), stupid advice but try to take a look at their official forums

edit: the site appears to be quite hammered though Razz

There are no expansions for ARMA II unless you consider ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead and it's expansions and want to run them in the Combined OPS format which isn't really necessary. You can buy the Arrowhead "add-on" elsewhere and run it standalone without ARMA II if you wanted to.

Here's what you do to get the most out of Arma 2, first you buy COMBINED OPERATIONS, that gives you Arma2 + the expansion.

Next you download six updater:
http://six.dev-heaven.net/wagn/Six_Updater

Basically what it does is let you download and install & keep up to date any mods you want to use (such as ACE). It also tells you what mods a server is running and makes so you can connect to a specific server by enabling certain mods for that specific server. It's great, grab it!

Then you want this:
http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=13252

Which basically makes Arma2 stop sounding like your average arcade shooter (BF2, BC2, CoD, etc.) and makes it sound like a real battlefield.

Then you're pretty much set. I use the Arma2 launcher as well, but that's not required.

All maps you don't have will be downloaded & installed automagically once you join a server. So no worries.

In my opinion there's no longer a need for me to play any other first person shooters, they all seem so stupid with their limited play fields, heavily scripted scenarios, silly hitboxes, fake ballistics and overdone voice. Nothing gives me the sense of atmosphere like Arma2 does. Everything feels as fucking real as I want it to be. I can pick any strategy I want, the sense of sandbox and open style is apparent to me, and it doesn't need a bunch of music to make it more exciting. The sensation of having bullets whistling by you in Arma2 is just a complete different thing because one will most likely kill you or cripple you + mess with your vision/balance.

This is what armed forces use to train for real world scenarios, that's a part of it. It's also some of the most modifiable engine in the world today, I've seen GTA in it... and more, the devs are still supporting it. Sure it was a trainwreck of bugs when it was released. But it is no longer, you know Bohemia Interactive will take care of it, because unlike other developers they don't stop one or three months after the game is out and they have their revenue, they keep at it.

Get the game, it costs peanut money and is some of the best fun I've had in a game to this point. This and EVE-Online is all I bother to play anymore. Everything else seems so catered to people with attention deficit disorder that need bright light and flag hunting to add excitement to their games.

If people wants less than the optimal that's fine. You won't be able to play a lot of the content, OK. I got the full version of the game for a reason. I love the game and want it at 100%, not 50% or 80% or whatever.

Yes they do, it's just a bit of tweaking to do. Let me know if you run into any troubles. I got the steam version too and I ran into some hitches that I've managed to solve. Smile

Ok, right now Steam is still downloading the game. Arma 2 is done but the exp isnt yet. I never seen steam download so slow. I'm guessing a lot of people bought stuff =]

The two mods that you posted, they require any tweaking to install or just plain install and replace files inside the steam game directory?

They are not talking about Arma free. They are talking about ArmaII FOR free on GMG. As in the full version of ArmaII is free this weekend.

What's less than optimal about that other than you're not getting any of the "expansions" that came later?

You don't have to replace anything, just put the mods in the root directory with folders named with an @-prefix and then run the game with the proper suffixes (Arma II does that last part for ya).
