How long did it take you to phase your smoking out so that you're down to 1 from 10-20? In preparation of my own quitting plans, I've instantly dropped down from 10 a day to 5... and it's actually working quite well, because I make one smoke last me 3 hours or so. |
one day lol. my boss was like what can i get you to quit smoking? im like quit playing starcraft. Now, I don't smoke at all at work. that's 10 am till sometimes 12am and then when i get home i just have one smoke if i have time. I just don't buy smokes anymore. Technically i quit last week. and since then i had 4 smokes. That includes a 6 hour drive to montreal along with working till 4 am. Had 2 smokes on the weekend. One on thursday last week. None on tuesday and wedn when the bet started.
I only smoke out of a habit. I started when i was bored at school working on projects over night. It killed time. And now I just smoke cause it gives me something to do when I go on breaks outside from the office. So, now when Im at the office I don't do smoke breaks.

Ha, I got Zyban for free each month. Except it's called Wellbutrin all of a sudden, if it's used for regulating mood. I had to sign a form stating I've never smoked lol

Well that's it for me, I had my last smoke an hour ago and that's it... done. Hopefully. I predict the next week or two is going to be a right barrel of laughs.

When you fill the urge to light one just stick a cigarette up you arse and light it, who knows maybe it will help.

Best solution: Don't start.
Yes, yes I'm back.

Obviously. But why do people want to start? That's the real question I think. Why would you want to turn yourself into a lifelong cigarette addict?

Read something about new policy in Iceland as well. Smokers should be treated as regular drug addicts. Which means you need a doctor's prescription to obtain your drug. Smoking ain't so cool anymore when you're treated just like the crystalmeth zombies and whatnot

Strangely enough, the 2nd day seems tougher than the first. I didn't crave smoking at all yesterday, but today? *shrug* I keep expecting to stand up, go outside, roll a smoke and enjoy.
It's odd.

I'm getting sick of people saying that now, to be blunt. Everyone is all "you can do it! you can resist! you'll feel better when it's over!" well fuck that. Another week? two? more? the rest of my life? fuck feeling like this every fucking day.

It'll be over in one or two days Sabin, don't worry.
Now with both my upper wisdom teeth having to go ( ) I wasn't allowed to smoke for 4 days, I had no issues with that really; First day is fine, second day you want a smoke and on the 3rd and 4th it's just you resisting the urge to kill the time with a smoke. It's the second day when your mind is going "go get a smoke", I didn't have that after that.
For me that's why I smoke(d) though, killing time and clearing my head, was never about "needing" one. Not sure if I'll pick it up again, as I'm in very good condition for a smoker (teeth are fine, no problems with breathing when doing sports, nothing), but for me it's a good way to clear my head when working. Working on a problem, go out for a smoke and I usually get an idea on how to fix it

I can deal with the "craving" - it's the physical side effects that I can't stand. The shivering, the shaking, the sweating, the aching, the headaches.... all for what? So I can smell nicer to people around me?
FUCK THE PEOPLE AROUND ME.
