It's not (EDIT: Fully.) supported yet, I imagine there will be a release day patch for this and some other specifics like the restrictions Capcom talked about earlier.
(Game comes out on the fifth in the US and on the eight in the EU region.)
You need a controller, no way around this.
(Or rather you need the key-bindings they provide to allow you to press START and SELECT as those don't exist on the keyboard bindings defaults.)
EDIT: The full profile file (Or entire folder.) and all that from a user who has adjusted the settings and control bindings would work as well if it's the usual plain text config files which could then be manually edited to re-bind the keys that way if supported.

KEYBOARD PROBLEM FIX
Just unpack the RAR files into your Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition installation folder (where the file "SSFIV.exe" is located).
Then, if you want to change the controls to your liking, just edit the x360kb.ini.

Does anyone have any idea how to set fighter background music for battles?
As far as I understand, you have to pick an icon and a title to unlock the feature, but as it appears it's not possible to do so without GFWL connectivity.

Press the "Status Display On" button in the menu to set your icon and title. By default Page Up on the keyboard or Right Bumper on the X360 controller.
But the "Arranged BGM" setting only works online or when playing with two players locally and it always plays the 2P theme. So not much use if you only play vs CPU, you're stuck with the stage specific music outside the arcade mode's rival battle.

Gamersgate "shipped" early which is neat, now to decide about achievements or no-live (cracked) and some other decisions that aren't actually hard at all to decide upon.
(Crack better not be the main cause of the non-working keyboard though or I'll, I'll keep using the emulator actually as I can't do otherwise if that's how it is, haha.)
EDIT: It was it seems, the start button functioned once I actually found the key for it, heh ah well it matters little!
(EDIT: No I just forgot to disable the emulator, seems it's by design choice then, interesting.)

There are some people already complaining about performance (caused by DRM) and input problems in capcom forums. So i think they will be forced to release it soon.

I'm enjoying it as well. I was able to hook up a super old thrustmaster gamepad (no analog sticks) without any problems. Works very well.
The plethora of characters and addition of bonus levels is kinda cool. Brings me back to SF2 days. I didn't play SF as much back then as I had no clue how to play when it came out heh.

no wonder it was freezing my system. since this game makes ur cpu work at 100%, the cpu temp rose over 80c.
I will wait for a patch or proper release.

I find challenge only in Seth in Arcade mode on hardest difficulty.He is cheater but still after 2-3 attempts i kick his ass.I'm considering to buy the game for multiplayer cuz ai is too easy.

LOL...I thought it was going to be fixed with a 0-day patch....but actually releasing it on PC without keyboard support? WTF?!
I agree that a good gamepad is usually better for a arcade fighting game but this is sloppy on CAPCOM's part - why the fuck did they postponed the PC release date in the first place..

As I have understood it the Steam version's DLC will be based on SteamWorks not GFWL.
This might (or might not, lol) be one of those mysterious "new rules that Valve has set" that EA says have forced them to remove Crysis 2 from the Steam store (because the DLC content was using D2D's service).
