I thought the specs would be a little bit higher due the Impact Engine.

Its not like the impact engine wasn't in fifa 11, they've just enhanced it and gave it a derp name.

There is a big difference between a predefined animation that is being played according to a special set of rules and the partly dynamic, transitional animation system used in FIFA 12. It is not just a marketing name. They really implemented such feature.

It is little bit like in Crysis 1, when the player stands on an uneven ground, the animations try to fit that circumstances and his legs take another stance...

I'll be very disappointed with EA if they decide to fuck PC gamers again and don't implement this feature into the windows version Sad

For the first time ever, FIFA 12 on PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system, and PC will have the identical game engine and feature set when the game launches September 27 in North America and September 30 worldwide.

But collision system was already impressive in Fifa 11 and they just improved it. I don't think I need better PC for that.

And its already confirmed that its the same version for pc and the consoles.

Good collision system does not mean that they don't need to improve it. Especially in the latter part of the video the animations don't look very good. There is still a LOT of room for improvement, but as much as this guy denies it, it all comes down to processing power.

Of course they should, I just think they should focus on other things that are more relevant in a football game.

Hopefully the system involving players' attributes/stats/individual abilities will be improved as well (in Fifa 11 PC all the players behaved almost the same way), which is surely one of the most important aspects along with animations and AI.

I'm feeling rather positive about this new Fifa

Very Happy Well FIFA 11 was already a very good game; if they'll manage to fix the few flaws and introduce some new interesting feature it will be almost perfect Smile

pes was dead last year already, now they're getting fucked in the butt.
give it up konami. make some beat up games, your time is over.

especially today where everyone wants a final game, without editing stuff just to get everything right.
from time to time i play pes 10 at a friends house and holy shit it sucks so hard.
it doesnt even look like a real football game to me. its more like chess.

too bad... i was a pes fanboy once

oh forgot the crappy and laggy online system pes has.
welcome to the future and internetz konami.

Both games are far from sim but PES2011 on pc after some mods and gameplay tweaks plays a better football game that Fifa11."Fire" mod is very good, you can adjust gameplay speed to your likings, defense is improved, AI shots too.Fifa11 animations are obviously better but small pitch and lack of randomness in both ends destroys the game big time.

and that's what freiwald said, we cannot purchase a game to be playable and enjoyable only after modding, tweaking, etcetc.
Fifa11 is perfect out of the box (i've applied only the Lod mod).

Randomness is less because people plays only with commands set to automatic, but when you play manual the game rocks in every aspects.

The only thing that EA should improve is the difference between Manual players and the rest, putting dedicated charts and ladders, to stimulate people to play in that way.

i dont want to use patches, because i want to enjoy online play.
and i never said anything about fifa being a sim. it just feels more like real football (without patches, dont give a fuck about them)

To each his own.I want mod friendly games.NBA2k11 was nearly perfect vanilla and with mods it's a masterpiece. That's why I have a PC.I want options, I love editing, applying mods, searching for good mods.If I want a couch lazy experience I fire up the PS3.
Also, even on manual controls Fifa11's gameplay becomes stale after a while.Build-up play it's boring and strict because of the tiny pitch.
PES2011 is not so good either but the big pitch saves the day and you feel there's little more freedom when you're attacking.
I'm not a fanboy of either game.Imho these 2 games are mediocre in all aspects.Presentation is laughable, franchise/career is swallow, commentary is a total joke. When I fire up NBAk11 or The Show 11 and then go back to Fifa11 or PES2011 the difference is so shocking that it's a miracle these 2 games are still on my HDD.

However NHL will not be released at all on PC.

EA blame piracy. Do they honestly believe piracy is the reason why people didn't buy NHL 2004, renamed to NHL 2011?
