Been thinking about one of these little gadgets for a while now.

I think the days of a map book is over as it's a nightmare to find anywhere.

Does anyone know any good particular devices that can be usefull for navigation in the car?

I've been looking at a few PDA's that can mount on the dash - any idea's anyone? Very Happy

you know having seen a few of those over the counter ones, i realized spending a bit more and getting a good one pays for itself... Avec-n1 is an awsome choice that does EVERYTHING , i mean EVERYTHING you could ever want out of it... check it out.

My advice would be to invest a bit more in a Tom Tom Go.

I've got the original version, & find it invaluable now.

My buddy uses one of the Garmin allinone GPS/PDA. It looks like an IPAQ but has a flip up antenna where the CF card would be. Its amazing and mounts right on his dash. It also came with a speaker/power charger so you can hear the voice commands. Its relativly afordable too.

Here is a link.
