I've been playing BF1942 for a while now and today everything got fucked up with patches etc. I wanted to uninstall it and install to one of the other hdd's, but it refuses to be uninstalled Confused The progress bar shows nothing and when I close the window I get a RPC (Remote Procedure Call) error which says:

"An error occurred while launching the setup. An RPC (Remote Procedure Call) was not recieved"

But this only effects BF1942 and no other application/games installed.

  • Press windows key + r
  • Type services.msc in the box
  • Locate, activate if necessary and start the service named DCOM - xxxxx
  • Locate and make sure the service windows installer isnt deactivated, you can also start it if it is not started
