Dunno, it makes sense what you're saying, but there are more differences (PoM, improved: shadows, contrast/tonemapping & AO) than simply new textures.

Closed every running programs just to be sure started a new game emerged from the sub bloody screen then bam! Black screen exe not responding what the hell??!!

It seems i had my problem with the hdmi connection. I switched to dvi and no issues so far. Only with 2 dx11 games so far f3ar and crysis 2. Weird.

The textures in Crysis 1, a big, open, 2007 game, are more detailed than a retarded 2011 corridor shooter. It's not just texture size, but how detail textures are applied. And this patch has not addressed that, because that is one of the first things that console design "optimization" requires - put post processing instead of detail textures. All the POM and tessellation crap don't make up for the fact that textures, even with high-res patch are still very low compared to Crysis 1. Want to QQ some more on how they are still better than most shooters out there? Who cares. Crysis 1 has better graphics. Crysis 1 has better textures. Crysis 2 has more shaders.  |

Some bad assumed information here.
The amount of textures in crysis 1 are still alot less then crysis 2. The open ended outdoors is simply a circus of repeated texture use masked by texture blending.
Crysis 2's urban landscape uses alot of custom textures for different wall and building types, and may contain many custom one use textures for things like signs and streets.
As for the quality of the new high res textures vs user made patches, alot of things come into play here. The biggest one being that the official crysis 2 textures were actually sanctioned by the main team and follows along with the visual style the team has agreed upon for this project. After all YOU may like the user made texture patches, but that dosn't mean the design team does and it may not fit in with the game style they have layed out.
Also there is really the big question on how many of the textures in those texture packs that are actually free to use. As someone who has been through the demo scenes MOD music days and midi music sound banks, you learn that the best collections of works are usually filled with illegally ripped and/or used resources.
Lastly is how much of a performance loss the crysis 2 team found to be acceptable. You can add high res textures till your eyes bleed but eventually you run out of systems that can run it.
