Yes, I am aware of the existing thread, but I doubt anyone else checks it other than people who actually paid for it(I don't).

Edit: Are there any cheats for the game? Cause if there are this game is fucked! people who get VAC banned will create new accounts and get the game again...

Q. Won’t going Free to Play mean more griefers and cheaters?
We’re increasing our focus on making sure that hostile players can’t ruin your fun. Specifically, we’ll be keeping a close eye on players exploiting the ability to make infinite free accounts to bypass bans. We’ve built systems that’ll allow us to measure and track what these players are doing, and respond quickly.

They were hiring software engineers etc for VAC not too long ago (couple of months maybe?). This and Dota 2 will definitely need them.

Sounds like PR bullshit but Valve are known to pull out surprises out of their ass. What I'm curious about is how they're gonna "track" players. Malware tracking how many accounts are used on a particular pc? How will it come into play with blank accounts used for "cracked steam games"? Time will tell.

Banning by IP, maybe? A Master List of bans, with the reported IP on there?

That seems to be the only explanation Mad

Anyway, I never tried TF2, but I guess this is the best time to do so. Let me know if anyone wants to play (after it downloads).

Valve has turned this shit into a pile of gay .

Those idiots were planning this for a long time .

TF2 was way better without all this hat and shit which were added later .

I still don't get what all the fuss is about, if you don't want the aesthetic crap then you don't have to spend money on it ?!

And as far as the crafting shit goes, again, there's no need to do it, is there? As far as I can tell, there's no more difference between those weapons and the "standard" ones as there is between the "stock" and "unlockable" weapons. Slightly different stats and effects, but I haven't seen one that is actually more powerful than shit you get for free.

Take all of that away and it still is a more amusing and better game than goddamn Brink or...well pretty much anything out there :/

It's 7.2GB here, but I have HL2 already installed, so the shared engine files are not counted.

Breakdown of the big in size folders:

2.4+ GB maps
2.3+ GB "materials" ( textures & metadata: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Material )
900+ MB sounds
600+ MB videos
570+ MB models
100+ MB weapon sounds

It adds up.

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

And how much of those 7.2GB are pure hats by now? Like, half?

Isn't a hat just a texture? It would take a lot of textures for something as small as a digital hat to fill up 7.2GB Laughing
