There's still no retail scene release right?

Correct, but the DaRkSiDe one should be good, as it includes the latest patch files, a working crack, and everything's there (nothing is ripped). In fact I'm downloading it right now.

The DaRkSiDe release works like a charm. There's no logical need to wait for a scene release at the moment.

Why don't you wait for F.E.A.R.3-SKiDROW? My crystal ball says it's coming. |
Because I got sick of waiting for their Red Faction 4 release.

Wow! This game sure has low res textures. I looked at a red sign on a door, the text was impossible to read, but I'm guessing it should have read "Fire escape, or exit".

Stopped playing after the first 10 mins. Extremely bad overall to the point that it cant even be compared to the previous titles.

lulz, I played about 10 mins as well, and I came to post how fast paced and great the shooting seems to be. I am impressed with this aspect, at least, so far. I barely use the cover, I just run and gun.
What I don't like at all is the extreme bloodyscreensoreal.jpg effect they use.
Also performance seems to be better than the beta, and the mouse jerkiness I had in the beta which was like the mouse controls were emulated gamepad controls isn't there any more, or at least it's much much better.
I think I'll like this game.

It might be a decent game after all, but that vaseline effect needs to go. This kind of graphics annoy me, not the kind that has low-poly models and just some decent textures. This game has one of the most blurry graphics that I've ever seen. In this state, the game is almost unplayable for me.

Wow this kinda sucks, I was liking the difficulty playing the preview on "Fearless". It made me use cover frequently so I could progress. I understand it was a bug but I was hoping it would still be challenging with a working crack.

It's one of those cases where it will take longer to download the game than beat it
I'll give it a try tomorrow, it's free after all

F.E.A.R. 3 (c) WB Games
22-06-2011........Release Date - Protection.........Steam CEG
FPS..................Game Type - Disk(s)..................1 DVD
RELEASE NOTES
Alma is expecting and a new level of terror grows as you and your
cannibal brother battle through a hellish nightmare. Fight together or
die alone on a deadly mission to confront your twisted mother. Players
can take on the role of Point Man, a genetically enhanced soldier with
superhuman reflexes and the ability to manipulate time, or the undead
spirit of his brother Paxton Fettel, a paranormal entity who possesses
incredible psychic powers.
Features:
Blood Runs Deep, F.E.A.R. Runs Deeper: F.E.A.R. 3 delivers all the
hallmarks that define the F.E.A.R. brand: terrifying paranormal
experience, frenetic combat and a dramatic storyline.
Never Face Fear Alone: F.E.A.R. 3 evolves the brand, introducing
Divergent Co-op: deep, social gameplay that gives players distinctly
different abilities that affect their own play as well as the
experience of gamers they are playing with or against.
Frenetic Combat: Active 360 degree cover, evolutionary slow-mo modes,
scoring systems and best in class mech- combat aid players in facing an
army of soldiers and paranormal enemies.
Experience the Almaverse: The game world is tainted by the Almaverse,
the alternate dimension where Alma's psychic essence subsists. New
sinister and fantastical enemy creatures birthed in Almas warped mind
spill into reality and intensify the panic.
Generative System: Proprietary technology creates random events to
increase the feeling of isolation and unpredictability when playing
alone or with a friend, and offers new experiences each time gamers
play through.
Masters of Horror: Legendary film director John Carpenter and writer
Steve Niles provide their expertise and guidance to take F.E.A.R. 3's

I reached chapter 6. I'll finish it tomorrow. It's an okayish game. Certainly not terrible, and at times the firefights can be pretty good.

the F.E.A.R games hasn't been really good games if you ask me. But all of them has something other fps developers should think about. This one have the cover-system. FINALLY someone got how to make a cover-system which isn't cheating and also got it right. COJ2 had a good one, somewhat unpolished. But F.E.A.R3 has a great one, you can sneak and peak seamless and on top of that you're stay in fps-view and not some lame zoom-out-to-3d-person-perspective.
