that's not a review, its a series of excuses of "well they did this for this reason"..doesn't mean it doesn't still suck to do them.

Well he gives the game a 6.5, but I didn't care about the review. I just thought he made good points about the hypocrisy of the gaming media, and that the game doesn't deserve low scores like 2/10 and 3/10.

I watched the video up to the point when he said that "the graphics are amazing", then my troll detector siren went off I lost all attention for what he was saying.
The graphics aren't amazing, but he was right about the fact that the graphics are pretty much on par with other shooters besides really only Crysis 2.

He's right though, anyone saying it looks shit has probably just got a deep, passionate hate for the game for whatever reason. Looks like any old console port. Screenwide blur as "AA" method? Check. Bloom? Check. Low resolution textures? Check. Perhaps the character models are "sub-par" but since those could be older than the current generation consoles..

No one is saying that you shouldn't play the game but for the first time there is a consensus when it comes to hype/gameplay/graphics and it isn't a good one... Never mind....the idea is you shouldn't pay for the game

I know, I hate him, I hate him so much for his Witcher videos that he blocked me But his rant about Duke in the gaming media is spot on! God knows how many reviews I have read/watched where a game gets near perfect score despite all the bile they just threw at it.
And there are way too many games that gets near perfect or perfect, WTF??? Every month you see approx. 3 near perfect games if the media is to be believed. Those morons have undermined every rating system for the last 3-5 years!

Actually I think Modern Warfare 1 & 2 singleplayer are pretty much the same thing (just the same as mw3 will be). They share the characters, gameplay mechanics, on-rails style, etc. I like them all for what they are, an action-packed interactive movie with an interesting-enough plot to keep me playing (not so hard to keep playing even if the plot is bad though, as each game can be completed in around 5 hours). Now the multiplayer, I guess there you could tell differences.
About DNF graphics I don't think they're shit at all, they're just dated, like from 2005 or so. But that didn't bother me at all nor did it keep me from enjoying it.

and I didnt had any problems with bosses or underwater section like him
I myself very much like game. Its Duke Nukem 3d in 20011. This is what it was suppose to be.
They cold make ragdoll better etc but overall its what rational gamer should expect out of this

I cant finish the game..I really really really tried to.
but I got to the part right after the hive and at the burger tower. and like I said before the obviously forced and useless choke points to make you 'wait, kill creatures for a few minutes for no reason..NOW you can go" drove me crazy.

Sure that's fine now and then, it slows the pace well..but every 5 MINUTES? really? you needed to stretch the gameplay that much?
the most obvious and painful one for me was on the burger level..climbing up the side..where you use the turret in the crashed helicopter...shot down timed and spaced waves of ships coming at you, then a few guys that hover in, then some ship waves...hover in, waves..hover in..waves...boss like one..WIN!
it feels like waiting in a queue at the bank..take a few steps, wait, take a few steps wait...it breaks the flow of it to me..
if I got the skill and the ammo to forge forward and take them down as I go without dying..why stop me for generic reasons?

Yeah....with the "only" difference between 1 and 2 is that the first had cohesion, atmosphere and I enjoyed playing it from start to finish. Moments like the Nuke (hehe.....sry old Duke) devastated landscape and the sound of children playing just before dying, the failed assassination in Prypiat or the AC-130 scenes where some of the best in gaming.

Shit...this game should have been on 125 or even 150% speed by default. I just played a level to try it out and it feels much better this way. I was hopping around and circle strafing boars at comical speeds like the good old days. I know you can hop and strafe in normal speed but it feels RIGHT when it's this fast.
Not sure how the other levels will hold up to that speed though.

I mean, a game studio can work on a game for 12 years, get canned, then have another studio come in to polish their work and show what they where working on, while not realizing that it's a horrible sorry excuse of a shitty game, then give reasons as to why someone shouldn't make truthful reviews on it by threatening to "black list" them. Doesn't make it less of a shitty game for them to do it.
Okay I finished this, and read some reviews after. Seems a lot of sites rate it 3/10. Sorry but it's just not that freaking bad.
6.5/10 for me. I would play it again, I had fun playing it. It's nothing special, and pretty bad in some parts, but it's FUCKING DUKE NUKEM. Personally I enjoyed the platforming elements a lot of sites complain about.
However, I do not understand what did 3d realms spend 12 years on making...there's nothing special in there, aside for a bunch of crappy minigames.
i started to play it yesterday and i must say that the game is tones of fun:) yea, the graphics could be better and it feels like patch on patch game here and there, but it is fun and enjoyable and i will be happy to see more games like this.
