I am also aksing this. I hope it is easy to do with just jungleflasher under windows7. I hate doing that fucking bootable pendrive shit....

If you have the original key you don't have to do any soldering. Just download Jugleflasher and it comes with a PDF that covers all possible scenarios.
If you don't have the key, you will likely need to do some soldering (depending on drive model and firmware version - everything is described in the PDF I mentioned) in order to extract the key. If you don't want to do soldering you can buy CK3 Lite + CK3 Probe. How to do it with those is also described in JungleFlasher PDF.
Some stuff in the PDF might be easily interpreted in more than one way, in which case I suggest you search youtube where you can find many video tutorials on the topic.

That tutorial is amazing. It seems like it isn't so difficult after all... depending on the drive. My slim should go pretty easily, I'll have to look more into the older model soon.

Yep, just flashed from 1.1 to 1.9 without any issue, having saved my KEY previously... made it a breeze.

Got the old hitachi updated and working just perfect with Jungleflasher. Awesome and easy!
But... I am considering the slim model which requires just a tad bit more work. I'm seeing different videos on it, and the Jungleflasher tutorial wasn't totally clear. Do I really need an Xecutor Ck for this? It would be pretty easy to just have the 360 power the drive, no? That's where I'm a bit confused at - lots of CK products.

have You installed newest dashboard first?
I am wondering what is a chance of brick rather than returning to stock fw

hmm. my halo reach won't boot with 1.9
i'm sure i already reburned this game with ap2.5 data and it worked under the previous dash with lt1.1+
do i need to patch and reburn a third time ?

Yea you need to burn it again. Remember to run it against abgx so it gets patched
You just got a black screen, right?

I updated my dash when ms released it (kinda dumb), just flashed to 1,9 as i always do. Not the recomended approach, but it worked, and so far i havent been flagged for a ban (using Xval)

Hey guys, I've got a question that hopefully someone can provide some guidance on:
My buddy has an xbox (fat) with a BenQ drive spoofed as a LiteOn. Now, if I were to order a LiteOn drive and put it in, will that work okay? And, if so, would I simply be able to do the regular reading the key process and then flash the firmware and have the console work properly with the newest LT? I've not had a problem flashing any drives, but have yet to run into anything spoofed prior to this. Thanks for any info!

yes it will work. i was unfortunate enough to have an old console with a samsung that had been spoofed as liteon. obviously this stopped working when the ap25 stuff appeared (console expected ap25 data, drive couldnt provide).
swapped for a liteon and no problems.

Dont forget to get the key from the BenQ and put that key in the new LiteOn.

Okay, so I'd extract the key from the BenQ in JF, then insert that key into the LT FW for the new liteon drive, flash and I'm good to go?

Lately i've seen a couple non-jtag releases poppin' up stating it will work on every box, even a un-modded console with the use of an USB stick, or similair.
Whats the deal with those, Is this some hacked profile or something?
It does note that it works on the latest dash 2.0.13146.

Yeah, it seems they found a way to make it work on newest dash too.
@NoLiMiTSoLDieR: it's an exploit of xbl, based on releasing a corrupted-on-purpose xbl profile which has the game activated. It's corrupted so it works just enough to unlock the associated game/s but not enough to log you into XBL, thus avoiding the banhammer (or at least I don't know of anyone banned for using this method).

Are there any good up-to-date tutorials out there for various models? I was looking over at some jungleflasher tutorials and noticed things such as, "cut traces, solder, blah". Uh,... really? Is it really that complex now?
