Isn't it sad how people jump to ionospheric conclusions based on a video about the particular OPTIONAL UI that is designed for touch screens (tablets, laptops etc.)???

And it's not designed for touch screens alone.

Our approach means no compromises — you get to use whatever kind of device you prefer, with peripherals you choose, to run the apps you love. This is sure to inspire a new generation of hardware and software development, improving the experience for PC users around the world.

So just saw something that it got me worried, when you are on the W7 environment and you press the start button it takes you to the new environment which I don't like at all and hopefully it can be turned off.

What do you mean continue to upgrade XP? They did... They released Vista and then 7. Laughing

XP is a 10 year old OS, time for it to die, and it will, officially, on April 8, 2014. Then we can have the bored members of MSFN do kernel hacks so you can run Vista exclusive software at 10% the speed. Laughing

U know what I meant dude, ball breaker. its only 9:19am here...early for ball breaking Wink j/k

EDIT

Tbh, I wish more things supported Linux. I remember using Mandrakes version like in 99 or 00 and it was much better (speed wise and versatility). And if I could code well enough, i could always fix/edit what i want.

Stupid MicroShit and Apple with their monopolies on OS's....

How are they monopolies? You are free to install any OS you wish, and developers are free to develop for any OS they want to and computer retailers are free to sell their computer with any OS they want to. Wink
The more appropriate word is "popular".

So you are free to install Linux all you want, but you are also free, after installing Linux, to wander why the fuck you installed it because there is very little software that runs on it. Laughing

Thats my point. No one supports Linux. Ur forced to choose between Apple or Microsoft.
And I sure as hell wont buy a mac

U see ppl bitching all the time about this on tv (least on american and canadian tv), but yet devs who could affect change dont do a thing.

I know its all about money, but there isn't one rich mofo out there who is willing to shake things up a bit? If I had the money, i'd invest in some good coders and try atleast to create a viable alternative to apple or microsoft.

I know there's a ton more to it than that, but u feel me.

i bet they still wont have a function to make windows stay on top at all times, i really hate that they can't seem to fix that or that they don't care about that.

the search function in windows sucks too, i really hope they'll improve that a _lot_. It has also bugged out quite a few times in Win7 where it either doesnt find anything (even though the files exists) or the files it has found will disapear from view if i choose "sort by date". Never had a problem with that in Vista or any earlier windows.

i also hate i can't see the file size of each folder (without having to click properties of the folders), and i cant sort folders by size, both very important to have if you're gonna be able to work smoothly.

windows still feels very far from professional imo, quite unbelievable considering how big their budget must be compared to just about anyone.. i sometimes wonder if they even use their own OS to anything else than maybe to play a few games and watch porn, fucking n00b devs Rolling Eyes

I didnt say that, i said they have a huge budget (at least the should have..) and it's embarrasing how bad it still is, after all those years. I'm not comparing it to anything.

It's not high standard to want things that i think are considered essential by most people (at least those who do more than surf and play games in windows). it's nice it's possible to fix most of those issues using third party apps, but shouldnt be needed after all this time.

And yeah, having a working search function in a OS, that's really having waaaay too high standards, or being able to sort folders by size or easier to see their size.. lol

if i had something to compare to (another OS where Windows games and apps would work) there would be competition and MS would probably have to give a fuck, for once Rolling Eyes
