Just completed it, and damn that last level was challenging :/
High pulse rigtht now Very Happy Game is 7.5/10 imo Smile The game is around 9-10 hours... cuz of the loading times Cool Face

And yeah, there will be more duke Very Happy

I'm an old school gamer and by that I do mean OLD, I was there as a teen when home computers were first out, I've seen and played pretty much every console and computer since day one so I think graphics do matter.

In the days of the old Apples, Atari 8bits and the later C64 there wasn't a lot of room for code and the graphics abilities were crude, gameplay was the focus, it didin't always work that way but they tried. I grew up on stick men graphics, splodges of colour and watched them evolve.

That's what Duke should have done, this isn't an update, this was a whole NEW game, getting it playing right is the number 1 choice but the title has to evolve to grab a new eye candy hungry set of players, relying on the Duke die hards should never have been the plan.

I still play my old stick man games and love them to bits but you have to remember that they were only looking like that because they didn't have the cpu and gfx power to do better, if they did then Elite would not have been wire frame Smile

So for me graphics play their part, new gamers will look and say "its ok but it does not look like Bulletstorm or Battlefied 3", they won't risk their cash on a full priced but rough looking game.

We have to look past "if its worth a verb or not" Smile

Well, at least one good thing came out of this game: it made me so disappointed and bored that I uninstalled it, fired up DosBox and started replaying the old Duke3D... only regret is the wasted verb...

I only had one freeze, but seems like this game is overheating a lot of xboxes. I saw in FSD after finishing it that memory was above 60c :/

Yep, had a binatone and a few other clones of them, never had an Atari Pong machine tho...

ask yourself, if you can't stand to play it then what are you achieving by playing it? some points for a gamerscore? and what do those amount to at the end of the day? they don't mean shit, thats what. the only thing you are achieving is wasting your time. it really is that simple. you may have to wrestle with it but you'll come to that conclusion eventually. your gamerscore doesn't mean shit about you as a player. i was the same way. there may be 2 or 3 achievements in a game that i will make an effort to get but the rest i just let happen as i play.

i dont really understand why anyone is bitching about this game. what did you expect? it really is a polished turd. just enough shine to sit it on a shelf and cash out what they can. however i have fond memories of duke so in my head i just compare it to the first game because it can't be compared to anything recent. the "puzzles" in this game just piss me off because they're wastes of time. i mean obviously they cobbled this shit together to turn a quick buck. shame on these assholes, taking people's hard earned 60 bucks and knowingly fucking them over. i get stuck on so much invisible shit, there's all kinds of bad slow down and stutter at the worst possible times. the aiming sensitivity is absolute shit, too fast or too slow. i could go on but what's the point. most of us have played it by now.

it's still duke though and i will be finishing it Laughing

I have not played this much crap for a long time. This and Wolfenstein (2009) are the worst games on xbox360 for real.

Well, that the expectations are low shouldn't change a reviewer's opinion on the game. The question that a review should answer is "is the game entertaining? Is it worth your money?". Imho this game is NOT worth 60$, no matter how high the nostalgia value or how low the expectations.
