You sure this isn't leftover from demo? With that I had this folder. With Razor release it doesn't create that. Only the 'Duke Nukem Forever' folder in Documents. Seems like every time you start the game it will create some randomly named folder in there. Also running with admin rights and under chapter select it only shows the first. Seems saving is fucked in that regard. Can only continue game but not replay old chapters.
Also I didn't save into Program Files so there shouldn't be any problems with write protection or whatever.

@Pumpy Probably in the time this was made, GF3 was either top of the line or still in development.
I mean, do you remember the Doom 3 alpha supposedly running on GF3? Who didn't drool after that?

I'm trying to remember which gfx card I had back than when the game leaked... I had like 2-30 fps (mostly 8 ). Maybe the Radeon 8500? And that was almost as fast as a Geforce 4Ti42000

I had a GF3 Ti 200 at the time and it ran like dog poo at 640x480. Not sure what dance Carmack must have had around some magic Steve Jobs camp fire for the Aztec gods to grant him smooth performance, but it was awful. Was't any better on the Ti 4200 replacement either.
Only on 9800 Pro, with some scripts that fixed the alpha bugs that it was smooth at all resolutions. And still Doom 3 final was a lot smoother.
please dont hurt me! im 25 years old and never played duke nukem.
will i still have fun with this?
Hard to say...I've been a Duke fan since the first game on DOS so I was probably able to look past DNF's flaws due to my fanboyism. People who have no prior attachment to the series might just see it as an average FPS.
Not sure mate, mine certainly doesn't. Running it just fine without admin rights -- though the game is installed on a separate drive (my games drive: F: ) if that makes any difference?
I'm also running it without admin rights on a Win7 64-bit install, UAC enabled. Now in my case, I install my games in C:\Games instead of the default C:\Program Files (x86).
It's hilarious to see people who loved Bulletstorm pan DNF. Bulletstorm is the posterboy of consolized streamlined cover-system-bullshit games... I actually enjoy DNF. Perhaps it's the lack of automatic cover systems, aim assist or whatever that irks modern reviewers who seem to have grown up with CoD and Battlefield.

Ehm, no? I started my 3D gaming carreer with 3demon...
In Bulletstorm your weapons had at least some impact and you got proper hit feedback. The enemies had some actual AI instead of just standing around mid air. There was proper combat with varied fights (very far away enemies, short range enemies and melee fights, all at the same time).

I was mainly referring to this review and spouting my general opinion, not aimed at someone in particular in here....

Edit: Ti42000 - woah!
Lol I too had a Ti4200 at the time of doom3 alpha!
Even the full game ran like turd for me though

The issue with DNF is that the gameplay is 10 years old with some bells and whistles... It's simplistic like FPS tended to be 2001.
I don't remember games in 2001 restricting me to a 1m corridor and putting retarded invisible wall characters around me so I would listen to some news on TV.
Do you remember the TV news reports in Max Payne? Were you forced to watch them?
And lets not forget the retarded scripted events every second.
This game is reeks of linear-to-the-death console shooter.

Max Payne wasn't a FPS (following your example of picking cherries). It was a third person action game.
And I disagree, this reminds me a lot more of old-school FPS than modern console derp like Bulletstorm, Gears of War etc...
The combat just doesn't feel rewarding at all. Like PumpAction said, it might be because of the impact and feedback of the gunplay. It could be worse, like the shotgun in Doom 3...
For what it was (or what it tried to be), Duke 3d was perfect. DNF on the other hand seems to try to be the next great thing, doing alot of different things and "innovations" and just falling completely flat in the process. Not surprising given the history of this game.
For what it's worth, there are very few games I play for more than an hour, let alone finish, because I feel they're worth it. So if you enjoy this game, good for you.
Btw I only linked the joystiq review because it's the first bad one I saw. Never played Bulletstorm, but judging from the review it seems to be worth a try.
I was upto that 3 tit queen bitch but then I went to continue this morning and all my save progress is gone. So ill download the razor release now but I need a save!
