I pick a flag and that's all I can do. I can't populate any of the name or motto fields.
Any input would be great. I posted on the official forum but to no avail.

After WoP, I decided to take a closer look at this...

... Until I come to this:

http://riseofflight.com/en/store/planes

Is this some kind of a joke?

Of course, this is not the worst; make sure to laugh real hard here:

Don't forget this;

Please note that all flyable aircraft available for purchase are already in-game as non-flyable A.I. controlled aircraft.

Nice one. Can we say "Capcom"?

Yeah man, no shit. :\

I've been looking into this; it seems sim fanatics are willing to shell out cash for about anything. And the sad part about this is, Storm of War will also follow that pattern! Greedy Russian bastards! Razz

Brilliant stuff this is. We're now paying €5-20 for what? to be allowed to use content ALREADY IN THE GAME? That's like paying €20 to unlock Akuma for use in SSF2T.

The thing is, realistic flightsims like ROF come very rarely these days. it's the hard core fans that are willing to pay for these extra addons, and i have been one of those nutters that purchased several planes!

Wings of prey is the general type of game we see these days, and it aint no sim.. i'm not saying it's bad.

ROF and Ka-50 BS if you want hard core simulation. it's a dying genre and the smaller following end up paying for extra shit in the hope that others will continue to develop more sims!

New demo:

Quote:
Welcome to the NEW Unlimited Rise of Flight Demo! This version of Rise Of Flight can be player for an unlimited time and features two flyable aircraft with full access to all their features. This should not be viewed as just a Demo, but more as a limited version of the Full game.
Unlike out previous Demo, you can now purshase and add new aircraft and content to this Unlimited ROF Demo. By downloading this Unlimited Demo you can now build your own custom version of ROF bu adding content at your own pace throught the ROF Store
The unlimited ROF Demo includes the following.

Flyable Spad 13 and Albatros D.Va.
Full Access to Single Player and Multiplayer Modes for each aircraft.
Full Access to Career Mode for each aircraft.
Full Access to Gunner Positions in Bombers and Recon Aircraft in Multiplayer.

Finally a SP campaign mode, but you need to be online. Mad
Now you can also buy mods to the planes you already bought. This is becoming more and more like Railworks2.
But the demo, even only with 2 flyable planes, might interest someone here.

Pretty much what the retail version was in the first place - just 2 planes. They added a couple more later but even then all the rest still cost extra. If you like flight sims, this one is very decent and this free demo version has more than enough to keep most happy. I own the retail and can't believe they are giving this away "free" tbh.

Ill stick with sims that still havent been surpassed like IL-2 1946 with mods,EECH,Freefalcon, and others.Fuck that online DLC/buying planes crap.

I am really anticipating the release of Combat Helo and Jet Thunder.I don't care for rise of flight.Id much rather play Red Baron II with mods or Over Flanders Fields. Smile

I was highly tempted to buy RoF, but then DCS A-10 appeared. Maybe if they would release some Gold edition, with all the addon planes included, i might still get it if the price is right.

Got all the stuff I want from it for about 80 dollars as there are regular offers for the planes. Not too much for something you really enjoy, surely.

In my view its money well spent to a company that actually gives a fuck about its customers as opposed to greedy cunts like UBIsoft .

Rant over... have nice day. Cool

ffs - don't fuckin' buy it - why the fuck would you when they GIVE you the fuckin' sim for free? The only reason to buy it would be for the extra planes. It doesn't matter what sims you already love - this is the ONLY viable WWI sim out there and the demo now is a must for any serious flyer - even if it's just for the sake of having it.

I'm not sure. Only if the demo permits to upgrade, because this is a new build.
Try it.

Well people are talking about EECH, IL2, The DCS Sims - they are all good of course (and I own most of those as well) but none of those can directly compare with RoF cos the flight simulation there is based on World War One planes (WWI) and there are no other sims based on that era that come close to it - thus it is the only viable WWI sim.

Like I say - the game is essentially free and better flyers than me would get many many hours out of this "demo". I wouldn't even make any comparison between aeroplane flight sims and helicopter ones either regardless of era - I mean... wtf? Rolling Eyes

Don't agree. The FM, DM and MP are best in RoF. But OFF is much better in all other aspects. RoF is far from being the only viable WWI sim. Based on owning and playing RoF, OFF and First Eagles 2, that's my opinion.

Fair enough. Whatever people prefer is gonna vary... RoF is basically free though and the package for zero money would definitely give it the edge over all else - imho.
