Iv never played Gothic 2, but this seems to be like Elder Scrolls (Morrowind), is it ??
Cause i might try Gothic 2 this instant !

No, it's about five times better!
Easily one of the best RPG's i've played.

I wasn't a big fan of RPG's untill I played Gothic II, i totally fell in love with it and was addicted for weeks. I especially liked the voice acting, which morrowind hadn't.
These screens look amazing, these orcs look ten times cooler than before.

I would really like to see those screens in high res, can't really judge the quality of the textures from those tiny shots.

I wouldn't be too pessimistic about this coming out on a console. Gothic's interface is pretty simple, and could easily be mapped to a console controller. Any limitations that are placed on Gothic 3 will likely be caused by time or the designers themselves, not the console. I wouldn't worry too much about the designers purposefully "consolifying" the game either. Remember, Morrowind came out on XBox too.

BTW, someone mentioned the Gothic 2 addon being translated finally. Well, World of Gothic recently did an interview with some people at Jowood, and they suggested that Jowood itself would take over publishing for an English version of it. I think they're talking about an actual English version (no French subs or anything) because the French, Spanish, etc. versions of the game are being done by other publishers. So that's pretty good news.

This is great news.. one thing i hope they get right this time is the voice acting!
Hearing ridiculous Chicago accents in a medieval game world was laughable.. and spoilt the entire game for me so i didnt even bother completing it
Its a German company.. so why not use German or other European actors?

Yeah the monsters in Gothic 1-2 were really great, much better designed than the ones in Morrowind. Too bad there are no werewolves or vampires though, you kinda expect to see that with a name such as "Gothic", but maybe that's just me heh...

Then play the german version of it ! I mean this seriously; I heard of people playing the german version with a dictionary right next to them. |

1 of the best times I had in G2 was at night when you had to go up North to the forest altar for some mission, & in the distance I could see these purple lights as the cultists were doing their ritual - really creepy & loads of atmosfear. Only bad thing about the game was the combat - any pack of monsters would rip my character up real quick. G3 lloks *great* & I hope we get that "Night of the Ravne" expansion beforehand which gives us 'pirate missions' or something - sound *great* :-O
