this footage is like many ufo videos, you can't see actualy something solid but still there is something there.
@neon
totaly agree, for me, gta 4+ gay tony were very good fun games, good graphics, fun gameplay, and good stories (gta 4 better story) and great humor can't ask for more.
i mean..give the next game in the series

Someone who knows what I was talking about. It's a completely different game with all those and the game looks amazing with some tweaking.

Same for Rockstar, we'll get our GTA 5 and we'll get our Max Payne 3 but Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire are new franchises created for consoles, and meant to stay there it seems.. |
Quite a terrible decision if you ask to me, RDR and LA Noire could have been ported to PC with almost zero efforts/additional developement costs, and the sales would have been far from bad (they're also not very consolized titles, which would have helped). But again, we're not Rockstar, we can't know what's running through their minds

I doubt porting to PC and making it run on a shitload of different configurations is that easy. A lazy console to PC port rarely works out.

How can you be sure of that? If porting such a complicated piece of software such as a game with little to no effort/cost/resources from one platform to another, why wouldn't Rockstar (or any other company for that matter) port it overnight and earn bags of cash after that? |
It was just my assumption; the games in question wouldn't need additional PC-exclusive features (except for the usual mouse control/better resolution) since they would still maintain the same structure/interface as the console version.
And judging from R* previous works, the optimization process would be completely skipped, saving even more precious resources/costs

Also, porting is never a problem of costs and time, it's pretty easy to do, even afterwards. However, finetuning can be tricky, but if you start it when the rest also starts it's not such a big problem and I can't think of a port that wasn't worth the money put into it.

How can porting a game like GTA be easy? There are a shitload of things to consider and test when developing for PC. The customer care after release alone would cause a huge headache.

Becausee Microsoft actually prefers making it easy, if it works for Xbox it will basically work for the PC.

the only thing rockstar considers is profit . doesn't matter how hard porting it would be
which should be easier than GTA by a lot

I would say the same about Red Dead Redemption, but I loved Gun and the western genre is really lacking.

So another one for this generation of hurrdurrsoles? Really, what's the point? Just wait 2-3 years and make something proper.

Vice City etc looked teh awesome when it was released? A good GTA game doesn't need flashy graphics.

Something like TBOGT with a different setting/new characters would be just great; add even more side missions/variety and it'll be the perfect cocktail for me

I see what you're saying, and that's true that it has nothing to do with the game quality. It just feels like a waste doing another game with the current console tech (which is already years behind PC)...I'd rather play next gen GTA game.
i7 6700k @ 4.4 GHZ, 2060s, 16 GB RAM, SSD, Windows 10x64.
