I'm seriously considering making a commercial first person shooter game. So I need to know what you guys want from a FPS game. Lets talk about what kind of gameplay, story, sound, music etc you want. What annoys you in a game, or during the installation of the game, DRM, price etc.

Quick question: do you want to sell many copies or do you prefer creating a quality FPS?  
(In the first case, just make a CoD-clone; it doesn't matter how bugged it is, people will buy million copies of it).

Well, let's assume you can pull it off, so here comes:
Twitch. I'd really like to see twitch skills factoring in the shooter. What does that mean? Fast gameplay, longish survivability, hard to aim down a target due to his speed, not recoil. Also, no recoil. Basically, I think ut2k4 is the best when it comes to multiplayer.
Also, it has to be a PC exclusive. Multiplatform shooters of modern days are very easy to play with a M&K - and are usually campfests.
No cover mechanics - just makes gameplay stale.
That's it, for starters.

I want to see moar physics , something like in Derpzone but better .. nice bullet impact engine .. man first SoF is still great in that aspect. Story is not that important if the gameplay is fresh , ofc good story is always a plus. Variety , longer sp campaigns .. Im tired of CoD copy / paste method .. so generic. Enviroments need to be more involved in gameplay..but not in the scripted way..
Dunno , maybe Im asking too much..

Scifi/Apocalypse.
Realism has been done to death, WW1-2 has been done to death, pre WW1 would be dull as an FPS.

Some romance options would be good too.
Preferably with girls, but leave the option to romance guns for the folks that are into that stuff...

A spy theme always works, kinda of a 'NOLF' atmosphere except make the main character a guy, and avoid any James Bond cliches, set it during the 1930's before WW2, missions in USA, Russia, Italy, rise of Hitler and illegal weapons arming in Germany, one mission aboard Hindenburg when it blows up (you can make the main character accidentally trigger the explosion somehow that would be cool), one hurricane mission (the big one in New England 1938), Spanish civil war, one mission in Asia, driving the Beetle mission in Germany, searching some basement finding a laboratory and witnessing the discovery of nuclear fission, the game can have also nuclear/atomic themes here.
The story could be you are an American/British/Finish whatever spy trying to find out what each country is up to during the fragile post WW1 period and you are trying to prevent another possible WW major conflict but you fail in the end and maybe even cause the start of WW2 unintentionally, I hate crappy endings and this would make for a couple of cool possible endings.
Music adventure movie like, Indiana Jones for ex., cool music that changes during stealth or action.
Choice of action vs stealth, stealth doesn't have to be anything special just for the sake of choice, some neat but old (from our perspective) spy gadgets.

Scifi apocalypse, urban desolation, dystopias, etc.
In terms of gameplay, I'd say everything Deus Ex (1, HR) has.

Apocalyptic world, health packs (coming in different variants), some moderate RPG elements (they can be even pretty primitive like having the option of increasing your health, stamina, even your walking speed, and stuff of the sorts), diverse level design (multiple ways of approaching your mission objective as well as having the opportunity of choosing exactly how you fancy completing the mission/level be it stealth, guns-blazing, without killing anyone, or the previous three being applicable in different areas of the current level), well-written and thought-out mature story with memorable characters, good soundtrack and ambient music, a great emphasis on survival ...
Maybe I want something like Borderlands but not that repetitive with such an invariable world and quests ...
I'm not that much of a fan of scripted corridor shooters.
