I was gutted with the police station.... so many computers to hack, so many officers watching you all the time! I couldn't hack any of the machines in the main booking area, just the closed off offices. Damned police Laughing

I took down almost all of the policemen there, except the ones that were many in the same room, like on the first and second floors. Also could managed several round trips to sell all the stuff, but cba, since i wouldn't have anything to spend it on. Have like 25k atm..

For me the whole stealth system was kinda "splinter-cell-ish", as that is my fav. stealth game (SC Chaos Theory being the high point).

Well... my favorite apart the classic forever-in-my heart Thief 1 + 2. Very Happy

I convinced the guy in front to open the door(didn't force him, talked to him, uncovered some stuff, asked him to deal with it and eventually, he opened it on his own accord) and I was given free pass. Only area in which I couldn't enter was the armory.

How is the dialog? Nobody really makes any comments on it anywhere. Does it still feel like a game for adults? Are there secondary plots to follow again?

Yes, it feels just like a true Deus Ex game should. Mature themed, clever and well thought.

Also the secondary quests/plots are there. More so even that some are HIDDEN, as no one will point you clearly into the direction where you will find them.

Same here, I'm talking about the interview area with the 20+ computer terminals, as well as people giving statements to the officers. Try hacking the computers THERE I could walk around pretty much everywhere with no fuss, but if you try and hack terminals in view of the police... you get in shit

You can access the armory via the back-entrance of the police station. There are 2 of them actually. Smile One on the roof and one through a door at the fire escape. No spoilers as this is easy to get info from a certain NPC or just by exploration.

From there...

I LOVE the mini-hacking game. Now THIS IS HOW a minigame should be! Very Happy I hack everything I get my hands on. If I can't hack it and it's above lvl. 3, I use that special tool to bypass security.

Almost everywhere or everywhere?

I'm thinking like are there areas where they will go, "You're not supposed to be here" and shoot at you/arrest you/whatever, or are they solely based on whether or not you do something with a terminal/container/whatever?

Would've been cool if you have something like Subversion where rooms are assigned different levels of security.

You're not allowed in offices, they'll tell you to leave if they catch you, eventually going as far as pulling their weapon on you. The major beef is hacking/accessing terminals. If you get seen doing THAT, it's over - you get attacked. Other than that, I was free to pretty much move around wherever I wanted.

There's a vent leading to the armory, but you still have to hack the pc (or use the password, i'm pretty sure I found it somewhere in the precinct) to open the door to the equipment.

But by then the whole 3-rd floor except 2 cops, and the whole 2-nd floor except of 3 cops were clear of ene.. witnesses. Wink

Is there a way to empty the clip of a gun, before you sell it? I picked up a lot of guns, only to get 2-3 ammo from them, and then they dissapeared, considering that some of them cost ~150-750.. that's a lot of wasted money!

I've been messing around trying to get the X-Fire chat overlay to fix the DX11 brightness bug.

I can get it pop up and play fine in DX9 mode using the BFBC2 entry as a template and changing one argument (removing the DInputMouse part), but no matter what I try for DX11 the overlay popping up crashes the game. Sad

I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

So, I have a few questions:

Any way to make the sound of guns sink up with the shooting? It's really delayed atm, like .3-.5 seconds.
Secod - is shooting from covers the only way of fighting? Enemies seem to have perfect aim, even if I strafe and move, I hate that.
Third, anyone manage to get it to work with DX11 with an nvidia card?

i went inside the 2nd floor armory, avoiding the camera and facepunching the guard inside: after some hacking i've got my hands on the special stun-area rifle, it create a small-kinetic-bursting-bubble exploding on contact; after the hit, the enemy are briefly stunned for 5ish seconds.

question: nothing around to get ALL the augs besides the XP? Very Happy

How much stealth does the gameplay allow?
Roughly 50%? 75%? Close to 90%?

I'd say 90%. It would be 100% if it weren't for the hive mind of the witnesses.

hard difficulty

- Sneaked through the whole tutorial section in the beginning without being seen.

- Knocked out the first guard in the hostage mission "just for fun" as Mary said in that gameplay trailer lol, and finished it without being seen.

- Killed 3 "guards" and knocked out the main guy in an apartment for a side mission which demanded exactly that, Detroit Hub. I'm pretty sure they would accept it if I knocked out the 3 guards somehow and not really kill them, but they were marked for "disposal".

- Killed the boss at the end of the preview code with mines I picked up before (there's no choice really, it's a boss fight)

Other than that, I didn't touch anyone and didn't trigger alarms. I call this a success, the game is going to be awesome. Very Happy

Not sure if it can be played rambo style at all, at least not on hard because Jensen dies from 2 bullets and health regeneration is extremely slow (which is good).
With highlighting, see-through-walls-aug, last known position, some good weapons and mark & execu..track, I'm sure it can be played like Panther Cell: Conviction.

Just finished playing through in on hard, non-lethat all the way. I'd say it took me atleast 10 hours, I explored everything I could.

Amazing game. It really does feel like a proper Deus Ex sequel.

Anyone have a picture dump of DX9 versus DX11 screenshots. The game - does not look that great on DX9 (doesn't look awful either), wanted to see what it looks like on 11.
