After the finale I wouldn't recommend Lost even to my greatest enemy...
What ?
Even though the finale was a "like it or hate it" affair , Lost is still one of the greatest show of all time and absolutely worth watching. It's one hell of a ride as far as i'm concerned.
And even if it's not sci fi , i'd recommend 24. You need a dose a Jack Bauer badassery in your life.

Awesome chart! However I don't agree with Sanctuary being classed as Steampunk.
Already seen Dead Like Me, Band of Brothers, Rome, just forgot to list them since they're fairly old.
I tried House, couldn't get into it, that guy annoyed the fuck out of me
Lot's of praise coming for Deadwood, although I never really enjoyed westerns (Firefly was Sci-Fi first and Western second so it was ok ). Might give it a shot though.
As for not liking older sci-fi - I think it's due to a mix of it coming off as incredibly cheesy compared to modern stuff, coupled with the visual effects of the era. For example, I'm a diehard fan of the modern Battlestar Galactica, but I couldn't get more than 3 episodes in into the original series. It was just...ugh. I think it's a case of having to see it during it's time to fully appreciate and enjoy it. Kind of like playing Deus Ex or Diablo for the first time today vs. when they were released.
I always wrote off Heroes as being campy filler for the masses, was I incorrect in that assumption? Never watched a full episode.
Also might try watching Xena. Only caught glimpses of it back in the day, but there were always nice looking chicks in leather armed to the teeth, so maybe it had something going for it!
First season of Heroes was actually great, they played the ominous setup well and the intricacies of the storyline showed great promise..The show turned to complete shit after s1, though. Thats my opinion anyway but I know there are people who agree
Think im gonna check that Farscape out, though its cheesefactor is potentially destroying

I'm six episodes in, my take thusfar:
The lead actor and his wookie sidekick - they can't act. Their dialogue delivery is PAINFULLY bad. Not sure how either got the part.
That said, the supporting cast steals the show in my opinion. They've got some really great dialogue/back-story, and are pretty much the only thing keeping me going at this point. Apparently the show only gets stronger as it progresses so I'm sticking it out.
It also doesn't help that I've gotten used to watching all my shows in 720p HD and now have to watch 350mb/50 min rips. Ugh. Apparently any HD remake of the series is out of the question as the effects were made for SD quality or somesuch. Shame.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

How come I've never heard of Luther if it's so breathtakingly good?
Also, deadwood.
Is that an actual question? Anyway if you like good TV watch Luther

Allright, I'm gonna get some of it. I have watched some shiiitty shows in my life just for the hell of it!
The first season of FS is kinda flawed and the soundtrack is annoying.
It gets better with Season 2 and then really good with S3 onward.
More and more degenerates join the crew, it gets crazier, funnier and more visually appealing while retaining a rather sophisticated and intriguing sci-fi core plot line.
And its one of the few 21st century sci-fi shows that got a proper ending. (abit rushed but still..)

Yeah, I watched up til around ending of season 2, beginning of season 3 years ago. Just can't get my head around re-watching up to that point again atm.

Having just watched the first episode of Luther I have to say I'm not amazed. Brilliant protagonist and a case-per-episode make this look like your typical cop drama

I just started watching ST: TNG for the first time and it's awesome! Ofc the show has aired and still airing episodes here on the worst of timings, but i don't really watch TV.
Being currently at episode 4 with Luther I have to change my opinion.
As I said before(I think?), the show is no different than any other crime related drama, but it's fucking perfect at it. Every aspect is amazing. The cases are extremely interesting, the acting is flawless and the Alice sideplot is unique and amazing.
Too bad only 6 eps

Was just about to suggest after your first post, that you should just keep watching!
