It gets shitty reviews all over the place. Bullshit story component and repetitve gameplay being the major complaints. A game series cannot build its entire reputation on "destroy the world maaaaayn" for this long. It finally blew up in their face.

I liked PC Gamer's review: "RFA is basically one great moment—destroying buildings with a powerful weapon—repeated for a whole game"..vote 84/100 
Well, it's the same magazine that rated DA2 94/100 so no worries |

Did anyone else try the onlive demo of this and was really unimpressed other than the rebuilding of things and the destruction?

What impressed you, because other than the destruction of objects (which got a little obnoxious at times) and the rebuilding of objects, it was the most mediocre of TPS.

That it actually had a story with missions and path to follow, unlike the Guerilla sandbox style of game. This one has more linear mission based style. I liked that.

Ah, I liked the sandbox style, because I figure if I wanted a TPS with a story there's tons of those I could play, whereas there isn't for a sandbox tps.
That being said, the story in Red Faction in general is nothing to write home about.
