I had never even picked up a soldering iron before I did mine, even a monkey could do it, the desire part I guess could be overcome.Its just they are cheap, shipping from england to Norway wouldnt cost much.

Actually, it does cost that much. Shipping 2KG from Norway to England cost me almost £30 -- and a 360 weighs closer to 6KG. Not to mention duty fees on anything over £25.

@sabin1981 : i'm a soldering noob like you, but what I did and it's the best way to get a cheap (yes, cheap !!!) jtag, is to take a few afternoons to PM every people on second hand sites (specially noobs), and ask them their kernel version, their MFR date, and how the back of their xbox look (to know if it's jasper, or falcon or xenon, there is a jpg for that, that I linked to them).
Of course, many people wont answer or updated their 360, but out of all of them, I got the one, a guy who never plugged in on the internet, who only bought one game (fifa 10) and where the plug looked like a jasper (which was actually a Jasper)... So I bought it second hand, a Jasper, it was almost brand new since he only played a little FIFA (and anyway, even a used Jasper is 100% stable) for almost nothing since he never heard about Jasper or JTAG... Then you ask a shop (or even better, a friend), to do the soldering work for you.. ANd voilà, cheap JTAG and even better a rare Jasper (not a SINGLE freeze ever, stable as rock and I got 2 RRODed Xenon before which was beginning to hard lock before dying a few months after) !!!
Sadly, the only bad thing about this is i did this back in march 2010, surely in may 2011, it's harder to find a 360 that is still on 7xxx kernel, but i'm sure it does exist if you take a few afternoons and PM lots of guys !

I would give a smaller clip on HDD and get a cheap 1TB disk with FSD etc. and sell it a little more expensive. USB is still faster than ftp/network(samba server) so if I really want to play a game bad I connect the USB disk directly to PC. Not sure what the price would be, but 400 canadian dollars is around what I bought for my JTAG + 250 clip on and the external 1TB. But the only reason for clip on HDD on JTAG is for DLC.

One machine successfully Jtaged. Just waiting on HD caddies to finish the other 2.
Question to anyone who has jtaged a 360.
Which efuse method did you use? Resistor removal or did you bridge the 2 points. I wanted to just bridge the two points but they are scary small IMO.

no dvd in the drive , they dont have to burn dvd9s and all xbla files for free should I tell you more ? I bought 360 xenon with dash ver 5xxx for 50$ and it's still working I also have Slim version of xb360 for online and for playing legit games .

a jtag is far more comfortable, plus it's future proof, so no shitting around with ap2.5, new disc format or whatever MS will put out over the next few years. and the added price (or work if you do it yourself) will easily pay itself off since you don't have to pay for verbs. so overall win situation. oh and xbla/dlc en masse of course  |
Ok, ok. Clear point. Maybe if i get banned. But for now i am on stock Lite-On again (thanks MS). So i think ill wait for 2.0. Dont want to run the risk of not being able to play online. So no Jtag YET for me... |

I'm actually looking for another JTAGable 360 right now. Anyone know of a good place to get one or maybe two, unmodified falcons or jaspers? I'll do the work, so I just need the 360's and power bricks

it is hard to find jasper for jtag now . The easiest to find are 360s with xenon boards they are also the cheapest. But nobody knows how long they will work

So a Jasper can be Jtagged? I got an Arcade Jasper i thought... Willing to trade it in for another if anyone needs a Jasper... as long as its not banned or something
