All I know is that now that I replayed the first mission properly, (killed everyone; with headshots and lethal melee attacks ), explored every single area and vent, read all the datapads, defused the bomb and saved the hostages (on my first playthrough I didn't even locate the room with them because I was in a hurry to get it over with), hacked all the computers, and saved the hostage right in the end... THIS IS THE PERFECT DEMO!
I don't need to play more (but I probably will ), I have already decided I am going to buy this game!
And yeah the graphics might not be that great, but did you notice how many (non-movable, but still..) props each room has?
Each room feels it could be a real lab, or a real office.. because it's not empty like in so many other games.. I'm sure that because of this the average time to design each level must be much higher than in other games (for example Mass Effect 2's rooms compared to this, could be considered empty!!!!!)
I also like how so far the NPCs have unique faces (or at least I couldn't tell they reused them..) So great job there as well

Probably. But one can't properly use that FXAA as it's limited to using also dx11, bringing alongside that "brightness/alpha" issue.
Tried to play in dx11 but it's terrible. Changing brightness value in game options doesn't fix that, obvious.

Hrmph I go away for a while and this happens!
Hmm...
Well gotta go again, boy it'd sure be shame if Diablo III and Skyrim and the new Carmageddon game were leaked, too! Yup, a real shame!

As I said DX11 on AMD cards I believe doesn't have brightness issues.. But I can't personally confirm it.

Not sure I'll change (from actual nVidia) to AMD just for this game.

I have a HD 6970 and DX 11 seems to be working fine for me.
Miust be an nvidia specific issue.. there's a lot of bloom, but things look good from what I can tell.
If I make it out of the first mission with my preferred play style (avoidance + non-lethal takedowns when necessary), I'll probably just stop there.
I don't want to ruin the game for myself.
I no longer need convincing that this will be game worthy of the name Deus Ex.

Anyone else having problems with the shadows? I don't have many settings to choose from (either off or normal), and on normal they just don't seem to be there, more often than not. They show up only on ocasion, like in that tech guy's room, but usually there's simply none. Really puts me off.
Also, where does it store config/save files? Looked around but can't find them.

It stores the saves here -
C:\Users\<Your_Name>\AppData\Local\ALI213
This would normally be a steamworks game, which means your saves would be stored in the cloud.. but since it is cracked, the saves are directed to the location above.

I never thought I'd live to see the day that Deus Ex gets a proper sequel! Any and all fears I may have had about them fucking up this title are now gone. Make no mistake, this IS Deus Ex, in all it's fucking glory. Of course, Square Enix will most likely use this leak as fuel to blame piracy/poor pc sales/excuse to make any further DX games console only, but at least we'll have this one. I'll reserve final judgment for retail, but at this point I really don't know how they could fuck it up - I am impressed, and it's definitely a pre-order purchase for me now with no hesitation!
I'm also not ashamed to admit that I got a bit of a hard-on while playing this!
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

^^ ALi FTW!
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

If this was near-final, I'd agree with you. But I do wonder if this was (at least slightly) on purpose. If you know you've got a good game, then why not leak an old build of it? It whets player's appetities, gives the pirates something to look over, and in no way conflicts with the final release. I wonder how many marketing types are looking over the warez and piracy forums reading the comments, seeing if there's anything they can tweak.
Seems both likely and unlikely.

Don't play it IMO. Still noticeably lacks a lot of polish; audio is unbalanced, subtitles are missing, control glyphs are wrong and tutor videos are for consoles, mouse is VERY erratic/emulated/imprecise, bugs with controls such as stuck or non-responding ironsight, characters have multiple voice actors, non-bindable mouse4/mouse5, subtitles get covered by letterbox, etc, etc.
It's defo a beta, playing it will spoil the game. I played a bit of that first mission they demoed, the one where they demo "multiple ways of approaching mission" etc, decided to not go further.
When it's done it's gonna be a great game, no doubt. As for performance, X2@2800, 8800GT and I get 40-60 all High, VSync off at 1280x1024 which is to be expected from TR engine, but also don't expect amazing visuals either, although theres lots in terms of level geometry.

Guys, I'm amazed, you haven't figured this one out with the brightness yet.
What does nVidia have, that Ati doesn't? Ok, another one, what's known to make some lines appear blurry, while others not?
That's right, stereoscopic 3d. It's automatically initialized if you have an nVidia card and run it in dx11 mode.
Before you ask, no, it can't be turned off, you must switch to dx9 or pop your 3d glasses.

So i've been playing it for a few more hours. Forget the witcher 2, this is the GOTY. The sheer amount of choice/effect I have in the first mission (included optional objectives which also heavily impact the outcome) and ways to approach the enemy is awesome. Also as soon as I completed the first mission and came back to central there were a ton of quests/requests and things I found out hacking around. I couldn't have asked for a better deusEx game.
I did not expect it but this really lives up to the DX name and surpasses it. Oh and one more thing: on deus ex difficulty you will die in a couple of shots. You really gotta stradegize if you choose to go guns blazing (i choose stealth instead).

Weeeeeeee!! I'm so glad I can wake up and see people are enjoying the game, at least now I won't have to defend my orgasmic love of this game against a barrage of "it's derp crap!"
Just waiting on Neon, hfric, Leo and Werelds. I'm curious as to what they'll say IMO? This is Deus Ex. It's Deus Ex in feel, in sound, in look. Eidos Montreal; SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY.

Well said. Now THAT'S constructive feedback =) This alpha/beta build has its fair share of issues, no doubt.
