I couldn't even bring myself to download this. Something told me it was going to be an insult to the legacy.

Team Fortress 2.. too cartoonish for me (dont kill me now Radicalus =D); this game looked so bad and arcadeish that i uninstalled it after 10 minutes ...

Red Faction - I finished it the same day I bought it and it cost a lot back then.

I'm not sure if I regret the game purchase itself, but I definitely regret the cost. I had a relatively fun 25hrs in the "story mode" and that was it -- though I wouldn't have considered it €60 worthy. Now I'll be lucky if I get $30 when selling the damned thing.

The most recent "I wish I hadn't bought that Sad" came from Drox Operative. I spent my last €15 on that just because I love Soldak and love their other games, but the game itself is so bitterly disappointing (at least to me) that I wish I hadn't bothered.

Borderlands. Bought it super expensive on Steam with all expansions, played it for 1h-2h or something, I really disliked it.

Battlefield Bad Company 2. Maybe it's not a bad game, i don't really know why i bought this one, i'm not that into MP games and it sucks in SP. Played for 1h. Also regret it because it was quite expensive.

left 4 dead and crysis

now hear me out... they were both 2 great games, but i still regret them BECAUSE of the lousy developer/publisher support.

l4d was a shitload of fun but valve abandoned it after 6 months, and crysis, crytek basically said a big 'fuck you' to the multiplayer community by letting hackers/cheaters ruin the shit out of it. not to mention the boatload of lies that yerli cunt told... (and they certainly kept at it with crysis 2... again, lies and shitty post-release support... an OK game, but crytek just cant do multiplayer/post-game support for SHIT)

both great games, but i really regretted buying them for the multiplayer and because i trusted the devs...

I am usually true to the groups remark: "we made it free, but buy if you enjoyed it".
I applied this to games with little to no replay value (adventures games such as Monkey Island or Grey Matter) to the ones I replay often (Hearts of Iron, Victoria, HPS Sims [yup, I have geeky tastes Wink], BG1 and 2, Planescape, Gay Villa 3D).

But on topic now:
Assassin Crap 2 - Didn't event finish, what a borefest
Diablo 3 - Self explained
CLITMOTHERSUCKIN' Crysis 2 - see aforementioned adjective
Jutland - Worst naval game ever, I bought it drunk
Pride of Nations - All that CPU capacity I used for 5 turns could be put to work curing cancer in 3 days.
Victoria 2 - GOD the new Europa III engine sucks huge trojan-like donkey brass balls...
Monopoly - What was I thinking? Oh, yes, I was also drunk as a polish ape when I spent those 3€

That recent Game of Thrones strategy game. I don't even remember the name, and I looked at it for 5 minutes and I knew it was a bad investment. Haven't really thought about it since, though.

It was an impulse-buy based on screenshots and the concept of having something relatively unique in a tired genre.

My mistake Smile

It's an exception, because I rarely regret buying games. I know the risks and I can afford to take them. Since I pirate whenever I feel like it, it's kinda hard to bitch about bad purchases.

Except when it supports blatant greed or soulless game design - and I actually regret buying games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, because even though the games themselves were great, it turns out I was supporting a very, very bad direction for the future of those franchises.

Kinda hard to make intelligent decisions for what you should support when big successes lead to horrible sequels - which is just another reason I can't stop pirating shit.

I know this may be blasphemy to many, but Minecraft. I never could get in to it. There are others of course as well, like Hoard, which sucked and other indie games I've bought. Probably a few high dollar games as well that were not entertaining enough to even remember hehe.

I was so dumb I preordered F1 2011. Game was fun (for hardcore F1 fan), but savedata corruption prevent me from completing single season... so fock you codies...

I also regret buying AvP 2010, Metro 2033, Bad Company 2 (no prone, noobtubefest, this game should have stayed on consoles)...

Kinda regretting L4D2. I dont like the game, but the money went to valve, so I am OK with that Very Happy

Fixed.

Hardcore F1 fan here, hated the game and its predecessor. So glad I already noticed the crapness of it with F1 2010.

well I am watching F1 since 1997, so I believe I am hardcore F1 fan. I am not saying this game is the best F1 game (F1 Challenge is imho), but atleast we have F1 game after so many years. Ofcourse I would rather see F1 licence back in ISI hands.

btw Kimi Raikkonen will be the 2012 F1 World Champion. Mark my words.
