You don't need cracked paul.dll anymore. Nor troll DLC (it is auto-installed with patch).

and if you use gog exe and paul on skidrow release ??

Well... what do you think?
Restore both original witcher.exe and paul.dll, and then patch.

Starting my third playthrough. Very Happy I think that if you side with Iorweth you get a more dramatic storyline, though

Yeah unfortunately in those situations I really don't have any time to react and do anything. By the time you've tried a dodge, that's it, you're dead. Next time it happens I'll try a push to get out. But likely I'll get smoked just as fast while I try to cast it.

Use the "Battle of Thermopylae - technique" and make your enemies fall in a file formation when they close in on you. If they get too close, retreat by rolling around and get to a safer place.

If your health is too low, continue rolling around, running until you've recovered significantly. Then get back to the fight.

Use Ard on an enemy to distract him while you're sword-fighting another.

For enemies with shields, light attack to create an opening and then heavy attack.

In some places, enemies retreat after you've run further away from them.

Use 'Shift' key to block.

Press and hold movement keys when light-attacking multiple enemies. Works against weaker enemies.

You really didn't pay attention at all did you? I'm talking about a situation where the witcher suddenly decides to leap across the battlefield in a large battle into a group of 4 or more enemies.

There is very little to be done in that situation except die unless you have a full upgraded shield that strikes multiple opponents and actually have some left when you get there.

its funny how pc gamers complain about lack of gfx options in modern console ports and yet complain about witcher 2 which has shitload of settings to mess with.

No it's not.

And I'm pretty sure they complain about the graphics in general, not the number of settings.

and whats wrong with those graphics? its the best looking rpg on pc right now.

yep, agree with you and you can even run it with old core2duo, that's nice Smile

You can get this knowledge too, if you read updated character entry from journal in the epilogue on Roche patch.

Big oversight, in my opinion. It pretty much spoiled my 2nd playthrough that I was planning to play next on elven side.

I played the skidrow release with gog fix...
I now deleted troll.dzip and replaced paul.dll and exe with the files posted on this forum a few pages back (don't have the originals myself)
But I still get the incomplete error when using the international patch...

other suggestions besides reinstalling the entire game?

Very HappyVery Happy

brilliant, and fuck evan stone always looks hilarious.

and would anyone else here be surprised if they actually found out this was officially commissioned by cdp... i mean really.. i sure wouldnt, not after that playboy thing Very Happy clearly these things dont even need the blessing of the creators to parody in this manner, but in this case this is exactly the kind of tacky thing id expect cdp would do to promote the game..

not being serious really, just saying it wouldnt surprise me is all Wink

Since GoG.com patch 1.1 does not include DLCs, is it important to install the patch before DLCs, or should DLCs go before patch?

edit: ah, it says here clearly

Oh c'mon, are you whining about the fight with The Operator again? I can't understand what's so damn hard about that fight. It was just another fight, even on hard, with no potions, oils or whatever else there is (yes, I did die because I didn't focus, but that's not the point), there were a lot of fights far harder than that. I think the hardest fight for me was when a Scoia'tael unit caught me at the waterfall, they were simply spaming attacks on me all at the same time, had to use hit and run tactics, mostly with Igni.

Fights seem harder depending on play style and the same thing that makes operator seem hard to them made that fight hard for you.

I don't know. I find most of the DLC items just cheap, probably just gonna have the finisher pack and that's it.

For example Roche Commando Jacket, yeah it looks cool but then it says: "one of the best jackets in the game" and I'm thinking do I want to have one of the best items in the game from the very start and the answer is no. Same with other stuff, I don't need some handicap and bunch of free items.

None of those items are overpowering and you'll probably get rid of them once Act 1 starts.

Oh... No, VGChartz isn't simply "not very reliable". It's entirely unreliable. Smile Especially when it comes to PC titles.

Forget about their "estimation" Smile

I found the Raven Armor to be somewhat better than that Blue Stripes Jacket and it didn't feel overpowered for me at all on hard, plus it wasn't like I was cheating or anything else like that, because that was one of my rewards for importing my savegame from the first game.

the merchant from DLC is little imbalanced, ive started 2nd act with +5k cash, bought 2 best swords and armor, pumped it up with upgrades, now i`ve done 75% of act2 without even using any signs/potions, overall combat became carefree and easy ;P also exp in act 2 runs like crazy if youre doing plot related quests.
