The map is buggy as hell.
I just finished the necro vision quest and I was told to go to the assassin's camp
the minimap has an arrow going somewhere, so when I checked it on the map, it's in a totally different spot. First it was located in the nilfguardians camp, then it was located in the caves under the city and as I got closer to that, it was suddenly located near the ruined tower near the brothel.
After I got there, it failed to relocate again but the minimap is showing me going somewhere else.

thats one thing ive noticed in this game. once youve PASSED a section... a boss fight or whatever, it becomes pretty damn easy to do it again. its more about understanding the situation than it is the difficulty of the fight.
im sure we all wiped out at the first ballista fight, but i dont any of us would have any trouble going back to it now. the kayran fight is piss easy once you know what youre doing as well.

ok im just skipping to the end on this one.. just woke up, cant focus enough to go through all 975 new pages that showed up since i went to bed...
IS the final copy of the patch out
DOES it actually fix a lot of stuff - any noticable change to loading and framerate
DOES the gog launcher download the patch automatically for me and update the game

YES
NOT really if you use the gog version - most of the performance boost is from removing the drm in the retail version. But it introduces some nice fixes regardless.
NO you have to get it from the My Account page on gog.com

thanks.
though i have to ask... why have a launcher for the game when it doesnt either auto-patch, or atleast offer the option to download the patch within the launcher (ie in the download section of the launcher) - seems like a kinda roundabout way of doing things when you have a perfectly fine and capable launcher...

They actually addressed this on their community page - the launcher isn't stable enough. They might have updated it with this patch so that the next patch can be automatically downloaded.

goddamn it. this is the 3rd time my mouse has cut out during gameplay (works fine in the menu and outside of the game itself) and the 2nd time in the middle of a fight.
actually most of the controls cut out. The WASD worked fine and that was it. I couldn't hit ctrl to bring up the menu, couldn't use Q or R, and all I could do was hit ESC or run around..after about 45 seconds it finally came back.

Is this not happening to anyone else?
I'll be in the middle of doing anything and suddenly my mouse just no longer does anything.
I can run around.. the mouse works fine in the menu and out here, but in-game it's cut off. After I run around for 40-60 seconds it comes back.
Also other keyboard input stops working also
I noticed they specifically mentioned an issue with a logitech headset.. I'm using a logitech cordless duo.. could there be some bug there?
it seems random, it only happened twice before today, but in the last couple hours, it's happened about 4 times. I'm now jammed in the fight with henselt.

Question about act III:
| Spoiler: | Theres a crafting diagram for a sword or armor with dragon parts. How can you craft this as you only fight the dragon at the end of the act, and even if you choose to kill the dragon you dont get any dragon parts, and theres no merchants available in the epilogue? |

| Spoiler: | There is a sidequest when you talk to the Vran wisp, and then you have the offer to respec your character or fight the guy giving the offer. If you kill him (the toughest fight in the game BTW) you get dragon's scales. Also, if you did the "River of mystery"(not sure of the name, I'm translating based of Polish version) quest throughout the 2 acts, you can open a final chest in the sewers and get the scheme for Vran armor, the best armor in the game. Also if you do the gargoyles sidequest you get the best steel and silver swords, and also boots, pants and gloves of the Elder Blood, which combined with the Vran armor is the best build in the game. |

its funny how pc gamers complain about lack of gfx options in modern console ports and yet complain about witcher 2 which has shitload of settings to mess with. game runs just fine on my old hd4850 readeon in 1920x1200. yes, it didnt run so well on default medium-high settings but with few custom tweaks in launcher it runs great and still looks amazing (couldnt tell the difference)
also patch 1.1 removes all DRM and serial checking (you can type whatever you want).

In that case, restore original paul.dll, and then use this patch:

Also, if you already installed Troll DLC, remove it (troll.dzip from CookedPC folder), before patch install.
P.S.
If you used witcher.exe from GoG, you need to restore old one too.
