They are not the same file. Besides removing the DRM, they updated the files with some new features listed in patch changelog.

Sorry read the forum too fast on that "same file" part, it's not the same. Stupid as I am I backuped the original exe, but not paul and it won't install without it.
On another note, I'm stuck at a battle who seems infinitely harder than the rest
 Spoiler: | Fightning Letho in act1, level 12 swordsmanship path. I know how to knock him, attack, destroy his shield with mines. Problem is, my sword barely damage him. It would take a hundred of hits. Eventually he begin to spam bombs and fireball and I die. I got the strongest iron sword I could find by crafting, but missing some runes because I can't find elemental stones. |

people with "Installed game version is invalid or incomplete", remove any DLC installed and try again, then move the DLC back over, WORKED for me
2600k, GigaByte R9 290x, 8 gis of ram on Windows 7 X64

Yeah said 4gb to me too. also told me I had 4gb video ram which is of course not true.
By the way, the "search in this topic" feature on this forum don't allow you to open "spoiler" tags in the results, and don't give the page number of the post. I'm not gonna open 290pages to find the text I want do I?

Um, you can wreck his shield with aard/igni/bombs/daggers/quen on self/waiting/traps.
Seriously, the fight is extremely easy if you properly counter his actions. His fireballs are dodged by an unupgraded roll/quen

Strange thing, I have the weight increased (in inventory) after installing those DLCs but not the actual items. I removed the previous .dazip files in order for patch to work, anything to do with this ?

killed all soldiers near the first ballista in Prologue, but why is it impossible to continue ? I have adjusted the ballista at least 8 times and NOTHING happens except waves of soldiers attacking all the time.

| Spoiler: | Kite him close by. He only uses Quen, Igni and bombs when you're far away and only uses Aard if you're in his face and not damaging him. Slam him with an Aard right from the start so he doesn't have time to put up his first Quen. Then take a few swings at him. He always blocked after the same amount of hits for me, so swing as many times as he lets you but don't let him block or he'll probably slam you with Aard. After hitting him, pull back to just out of melee range and goad him to swing and miss so you can move in to attack again. Just keep repeating attacking, pulling back and goading his attacks without moving too far away or striking him too many times to make him block. You only need to take him to half health for the fight to end. |
