I liked the second more than the first. (even bought it over steam)

But to say the truth... I didn't play it much. I still like grid much better Sad At least there wasn't such amount of shit talk involved...

In Dirt 2 you could make an offline profile to play the game ( like you do with almost any Game for Windows title ) but for Dirt 3 they have changed it. You must make a profile in game to be able to save games and you can not make a profile in game when using an offline profile. Now in Dirt 2 you can't change the game profile but it still saves it under the default profile ( player1 ) but if you must make a profile now then how will the games be saved?

From the Codemaster site:

Problem

The following message is received when first logging into the game: "Profile Creation Failed - You must be signed into Live to create a new save for your profile"

Solution

Whenever you create a new profile in the game - which will allow you to save your progress - you must be logged into Windows Live. It is not possible to create a new profile in the game if using an offline profile. The first time you create a profile you will be asked for the Windows Live Key that comes with your game

Sad

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

So we will make one in older game with gfwl Very Happy

Edit: Ah i see you need to be logged in to make a profile for the game itself. This is shit...!!! Dirt 3 saving profile is uncrackable so we are all fucking then lol wut

Edit2: I think it wouldn't be that hard to take the saves of someone with legit game and then edit your profile with hexeditor to make the saves work.

Just make a free account on this site:
Code:
http://www.gamesforwindows.com
and download free GFWL game - Tinker
Code:
http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-US/Search/?q=Tinker
make a free GFWL account, and enter key that Tinker is giving you. Your saves will work in Dirt 3. You'll be in offline mode Smile

Like Bulletstorm workarround. I thought you need to write your game key in order to be able to make account for the game (not gfwl account)

So to get this clear. You need Live account (it may be in offline mode) to make dirt 3 profile to save progress right? Cuz from the post that @IamAWESOME gave i think you have to be logged in live, but to log online from dirt 3 game you will need product key.
I hope the workarround with Live profile in offline mode will work.

You need to have your LIVE profile downloaded in your pc. To download your profile, you need to log in online to any game, but since tinker is free, everybody is posting the tinker method. Like i said, if you have any other LIVE game installed, you dont need to do the tinker shit, since your profile is already downloaded in your pc.

You need Online Live account (you can get it with legit game or free game like tinker) in order to make profile for dirt 3.Dirt 3 profile is needed so you be able to save. You cant make dirt 3 profile with offline (local) live account.

I wouldn't call it well-optimized, more like old-optimized.
