Okay, 2 questions. Is the GoG thing on GCW the real deal?
I got the Retail game and registered ofc. Do I need just the .exe or Paul.dll too?
I don't want to fuck up my activations or anything

Just the exe, I'm pretty sure it's real but I haven't compared them (I own the GoG version, tested against Skidrow and such for fun and those really increase the loading time in comparison to this unprotected exe, probably related to their nocd method or maybe even a fault in this version - version 8 SecuROM also seen in Brink and Dirt 3 and some other titles with those loose files like XTerrain00pys.bix and so on. As I mentioned The GoG edition includes Steam_Api.dll and paul.dll like all other editions but neither are used (called or what it's - well - called.)

Yes! Smile

Cheers! Can't see to find the time to start playing the game properly. Didn't even had time to check if those .dlc's are present in my game yet! Plenty of work to do these days if I want to buy this game before the 25th (deliver time for retail at the shop I am buying from).

Love how the weather can affect your abilities like the quen sign get quite potent while it rains there is probably other effects but i´m still just doing chapter 1 on hard and damn sometimes it´s HARD hehe, love all the small subtle things you run into also how you sometimes get into surprise fights and youre unprepared and it sure feels like you are fighting for your life, find myslef with a stupid grin on my face from time to time. Smile

Thanks for the Font and Sealab thanks for fixing the dlc for us.

Time to get back into it. Smile

I used the one form cs.rin.ru, and replaced both files, although i don't know if the paul.dll is needed. Just backup your original files instead of replacing them, so if something goes wrong with the activations you can easily revert it.

Well seems to be working now, just bloody slow, took me about 20 tries to get the Launcher to download and patch. Though still no luck with the registration Sad

yes just renamed the witcher2.exe using latest ati drivers not the hotfix and downloaded the latest cap on 3dguru
but in truth we just have to wait for patch i really think the engine is buggy or not optimized never had a game who made my computer stutter so after patch it will probably all be fixed

The game doesn't like crossfire yet, that's what he fixes somewhat. It'll have no effect for you. You should do what I did, get the HD5850. It's so sexy.

Do I get some uber awesome "OMG this is so great" item when I kill the troll?

Bumping my question: I am a level 7 witcher and playing in act 1. Just finished the malena mission and it seems as if my player is just WAY to weak! I need like 30-50 direct hits to kill an enemy... Fighting against the scoiatel was almost impossible even on easy.

I had to run away and split them up (so that they get caught up in fights with nekkers) to be able to beat them.

After that mission some gang wanted to kill me in the woods. Again it took me hundreds of hits to kill them. I have the witchers silver sword (the better one, which's schema I found in the backyard of loredos house).

Um, you should use a steel sword for humanoids (people, scoiael) and silver for monsters. Smile

@PumpAction - use steel sword for humans, silver for everything else. also, sometimes after cutscenes in which geralt uses a steel sword it reverts to the default 'nothing equipped' shitty ass version of the steel sword (at least in my game), so if you arent doing as much damage as you are used to, check if your steel sword hasnt been unequipped.

Here's a link for a nifty Widescreen fixer tool for the Witcher 2 & various other games.

http://www.flawlesswidescreen.org/

It should be able to remove the black bars in Witcher 2.

Ps. It's in beta, and it didn't work for my version of the Witcher 2, but as the author says, it's tested with the Steam version.

damn i hope he includes GOG version soon the black bars are driving me crazy would kill for a fix.
