Just the exe, I'm pretty sure it's real but I haven't compared them (I own the GoG version, tested against Skidrow and such for fun and those really increase the loading time in comparison to this unprotected exe, probably related to their nocd method or maybe even a fault in this version - version 8 SecuROM also seen in Brink and Dirt 3 and some other titles with those loose files like XTerrain00pys.bix and so on. As I mentioned The GoG edition includes Steam_Api.dll and paul.dll like all other editions but neither are used (called or what it's - well - called.)

Yes! |
Cheers! Can't see to find the time to start playing the game properly. Didn't even had time to check if those .dlc's are present in my game yet! Plenty of work to do these days if I want to buy this game before the 25th (deliver time for retail at the shop I am buying from).

yes just renamed the witcher2.exe using latest ati drivers not the hotfix and downloaded the latest cap on 3dguru
but in truth we just have to wait for patch i really think the engine is buggy or not optimized never had a game who made my computer stutter so after patch it will probably all be fixed

AH now I see, you have a multi gfx setup, right? I have a single 4850, so no need for new profiles, right ?

The game doesn't like crossfire yet, that's what he fixes somewhat. It'll have no effect for you. You should do what I did, get the HD5850. It's so sexy.
Do I get some uber awesome "OMG this is so great" item when I kill the troll?

Bumping my question: I am a level 7 witcher and playing in act 1. Just finished the malena mission and it seems as if my player is just WAY to weak! I need like 30-50 direct hits to kill an enemy... Fighting against the scoiatel was almost impossible even on easy.
I had to run away and split them up (so that they get caught up in fights with nekkers) to be able to beat them.
After that mission some gang wanted to kill me in the woods. Again it took me hundreds of hits to kill them. I have the witchers silver sword (the better one, which's schema I found in the backyard of loredos house).

Spoiler: | witchers don't kill dragons. Ever. Yes, you can choose that option, but normally they don't do it. I didn't kill it so I don't know whether he uses steel or silver. Still, he uses the silver sword to stop the dragon from eating Foltest right in the prologue. |
|
Spoiler: |
I can understand, why witchers don't kill dragons, but I killed it for two reasons: it's a weapon of that bitch Philippa, and as long as she lives, the dragon is but a puppet - there's nothing noble about that. Second, his chest was pierced, that's pretty fucked up, so I just put it out of his misery. |

Spoiler: | if you havent played the vergen version of chapter 2 you might not want to spoil yourself, even if you have finished the game.
if you choose not to kill the dragon, and triss asks why, geralt gave exactly the answer i would have. firstly, witchers dont kill dragons. secondly, saskia is the complete antithesis of all the fucked up sorceresses and kings, and the charm can be broken. iirc i found out that philippa was still alive (i told philippa to fuck herself and went to save triss, yet still she survived), so there was that way, and even if philippa was dead - there must be a way. summoning the spirit of a dead sorceress and using it to break a curse is pretty standard for geralt, after all. if saskia is still alive, and there is a remote chance to break the charm, there is still a ray of hope for a better order of things. |
@PumpAction - use steel sword for humans, silver for everything else. also, sometimes after cutscenes in which geralt uses a steel sword it reverts to the default 'nothing equipped' shitty ass version of the steel sword (at least in my game), so if you arent doing as much damage as you are used to, check if your steel sword hasnt been unequipped.

It should be able to remove the black bars in Witcher 2.
Ps. It's in beta, and it didn't work for my version of the Witcher 2, but as the author says, it's tested with the Steam version. |
damn i hope he includes GOG version soon the black bars are driving me crazy would kill for a fix.

Head to the burned down mental hospital, south of Flotsam, and look behind some of the crumbled walls above ground. She's hiding. If you can't find her, use the Medallion (Z) or drink a Cat potion to see her lifeforce easier.
