ok best way to get you to him. go in the inn walk out the back door. go down to the bottom level deck... walk up to the whore... turn around and face the river.... take a left walk all the way to the end of the dock... stop on your left will be a blding with a porch.. ( in front of the porch is a guy who hates witchers) on the porch near the steps that allow access, is a guy constantly checking his stock... past him in the back corner is the mysterious merchant.

Damn the game is ruthless sometimes. I got surrounded by five of those spider thingies in the forest, bastards dash one at a time. I likes, I got used to going in Rambo style in modern RPGs.
Though I liked the new potion system on paper (buff beforehand), I don't think it works. Since you have no clue when you'll meet a group of enemies, you're left with one option, reload and buff. I don't like trial and error in games. While I do believe it's more realistic this way (who says "wait guys I need to drink my potion" in the middle of combat?), it does start to piss me off.
The nlue dots on the minimap mean the NPC has dialogue btw. It's not awlays a quest, but it starts a dialogue sequence. You'll only see the dots when you're close to enemies.

It is shorter...but then again there aren't long loading screens everywhere. And yeah Act 3 is pathetic.

Just started it, and OMG I died so many times during the tutorial bit. Looks great and runs fairly well though. Think my ability was hampered after coming straight from Witcher 1. Not liking the Dragon Age 2-esque menus much but what can you do. And need some aspect ratio change on my monitor, hurting my eyes a bit.

True about the loading, but the first one had like 5 chapters, each one with a new location... Really too bad because the second act really has good pacing, but then Act 3 just kills everything. Feels very rushed to be honest. Also the ending was a bit of a disappointment... The first one is vastly superior in terms of story and pacing.

Maybe they'll re-do Chapter 3 in an enhanced edition, or add a completely new chapter. They seem like the type of company who listen to fan feedback and change things accordingly...maybe chapter 3 even embarrasses them? Lol...

Seems unlikely with how the DLC system works already. Are you looking at Documents\Witcher 2\Downloads\finishers.dlc or InstallPath\CookedPC\finishers.dlc?

Nvidia 450GTS
4 GB memory.
I got the latests updates to everything, and it's a 3 week old win7 installation.
Also, got the 275 beta driver, but the crashing was happening with the 270 whql drivers as well.
Anyone have something similar happening? |
Yeah, I wrote earlier. Was doing the prologue wrap-up video and in the middle it just pissed off to the desktop, no error message, nothing. I gotta do the end of that all over again.

I got killed on an archway because of this shit.
A soldier approached me at an archway that happened to be functioning like a door. As I walked through the camera and stuff all switched around, and totally screwed me up while I was trying to fight. I ended up getting in some kind of loop where I Was going back and forth through the archway and I was unable to get in a position to fight or get away from the damn arch. The guy smoked me pretty fast.
The doors themselves are irritating as well. A PC game in this day and age shouldn't require that kind of door interaction.

Man this game is pissing me the fuck off. Combat needs to be fucking fixed. On the first kingslayer, but it's just impossible to defeat him when Geralt sometimes seemingly doesn't want to parry. Just stands there with his fist up his ass doing nothing. Can't pinpoint the reason either, just at times he just doesn't do anything when i press parry.

2/2 points in parrying. And i can roll, but that doesn't land me a blow on the boss, parrying one of his attacks and strike him after does :/

yeh this is the problem I found as well, I don't understand why sometimes u press a block baton and he doesn't block wtf??
